Clarksville Parks and Recreation maintenance crew gets facility upgrade
Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department people who maintain the grounds and facilities are getting a major facilities upgrade of their own.
For years, Grounds & Facilities Maintenance worked out of an old building at 1210 Franklin Street that had served as the City Garage. It had no air conditioning, limited office space, a small break room and inadequate restrooms.

Crew Chief Charles Simon, maintenance specialists James Barrineau and Brandon West, and Rodney Ammons, Clarksville Parks and Recreation Grounds & Facilities Maintenance Manager, are happy to have a new break room as part of their workplace at 1210 Franklin Street. Their project provided improved office space and work areas.
Clarksville’s Dunbar Cave State Park Programs for July 13th – 14th, 2019
Clarksville, TN – Dunbar Cave State Natural Area has been a State Park since 1973. The cave and its surrounding 110 acres have considerable scenic, natural and historical significance. The entrance offered shelter to prehistoric Native Americans as far back as 10,000 years.
Dunbar Cave State Natural Area will present many nature programs during the year. There are programs for children and adults.
The upcoming events include: Get Out of Your Shell, Unknown Realms and World Snake Day.
Clarksville holds largest Independence Day Celebration to date
Clarksville, TN – Clarksville’s Liberty Park was once again the site of our city’s Independence Day Celebration, that features music, food and fun for the whole family, followed by an impressive fireworks display.
This year’s fireworks were immediately followed by an equally impressive display by Mother Nature.

Thousands came out to Liberty Park on July 3rd, 2019 for food, games, live music and an impressive fireworks display.
Mic Check Monday features Gospel Groups July 8th
Clarksville, TN – On July 8th, 2019, the free Mic Check Monday concert series will feature three Gospel groups and a spoken word artist at Downtown Commons. Concerts will take place each Monday in July.
Opening the event at 6:00pm is the Send Judah. Lead Singer Danita Batista has been singing for over 30 years.
Tina Brown Band headlines Downtown @ Sundown this Friday at Downtown Commons
Montgomery County, TN – Friday, July 5th, the Downtown @ Sundown Concert Series will take place at 7:00pm at the Downtown Commons.
Come out to Downtown Clarksville for a night of Free music and fun. Local power house, Tina Brown Band, will take the stage at 8:00pm with a variety of new and old R&B and soul music.
Food and activity vendors will be on hand at Downtown Commons. Delicious food is also available in several of the downtown restaurants.
Clarksville Parks and Recreation announces Montgomery Gentry to headline Riverfest
Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Parks and Recreation is pleased to announces that Montgomery Gentry will be the headliner for Riverfest 2019. Riverfest, the City of Clarksville’s arts and entertainment festival, is now in its 32nd year.
Montgomery Gentry will perform at 9:15pm Saturday, September 7th on the Miller Lite Stage at McGregor Park. The concert is free and open to the public.
Tour Christopher Columbus’ Niña, Pinta at Clarksville’s McGregor Park
Clarksville, TN – Replicas of Christopher Columbus’ ships the Niña and Pinta are currently docked at Clarksville’s McGregor Park. Tours are going on daily from now until Sunday, July 7th, 2019.
Climb aboard and step back in time for a feel of what it was like aboard one of these caravel ships as Columbus’ brave crew sailed the Atlantic to the new world in 1492.

Habitat ReStore, Art for Hearts to host Free Community Art Classes in July
Clarksville, TN – In July, the first in a series of free community art classes will be presented by Habitat for Humanity ReStore and Art for Hearts.
These events will feature local artists leading participants in a painting project on the theme, “Turning Junk into Something Useful”.
