APSU hosting Q&A with award-winning, Atlanta-based director Freddie Ashley
Clarksville, TN – On Saturday, October 26th, 2019 the Austin Peay State University Department (APSU) of Theatre and Dance and the APSU Center of Excellence for the Creative Arts (CECA) will host a public question and answer session with Tony-winning director and Acuff chair Freddie Ashley. The event, which is free and open to the public, will be at 2:00pm in the Trahern Theatre.
APSU’s Zone 3 Press, Goldsmith Press launch poetry competition
Clarksville, TN – Zone 3 Press in collaboration with the Austin Peay State University (APSU) Art + Design department is launching an annual poetry competition, and the winning poem will be featured on a broadside poster printed on the University’s letterpress.
Planters Bank Presents… “Moana” at Roxy Regional Theatre, Sunday

Roxy Regional Theatre presents Stephen Sondheim’s “Assassins”, October 4th – 19th
Clarksville, TN – Our nation’s most notorious assassins are gathering this fall on the stage of Clarksville’s oldest professional theatre, the Roxy Regional Theatre, to violently pursue a twisted American Dream.
Stephen Sondheim’s “Assassins” opens at the Roxy Regional Theatre on Friday, October 4th, at 8:00pm. In keeping with the theatre’s traditional pay-what-you-can opening night, all tickets not pre-sold at the regular price will go on sale at 7:30pm that evening for a $5.00 minimum donation.
United Way of Greater Clarksville Charity Golf Scramble Brings in $25,000
Clarksville, TN – The United Way of the Greater Clarksville Region’s third annual “Game Changer” Charity Golf Scramble presented by Legends Bank was held on Friday, September 20th, 2019 at the Clarksville Country Club. An estimated $25,000 was raised for United Way’s non-profit partner agency programs supporting our community.
According to United Way’s Executive Director, Valerie Guzman, “We want to thank everyone who supported this amazing event.”
APSU’s “Science on Tap” explores Science of Beer, October 1st
Clarksville, TN – On Tuesday, October 1st, 2019, the Austin Peay State University (APSU) Science on Tap – which drew more than 75 people to Strawberry Alley Ale Works’ Pilsner Room last month at its inaugural gathering – is set to return 5:30pm at the same location.
