Restore Performance Massage offers Therapeutic Massage in Clarksville
Offers Sports Massage and other Therapeutic Services
Clarksville, TN – A veteran triathlete who is now a licensed massage therapist will lead a new massage therapy practice dedicated to sports massage treatment, therapeutic, Swedish and deep tissue massage.
Restore Performance Massage, also called RPM Massage, is located inside the Clarksville Chiropractic Center building on Madison Street next to Chick-Fil-A. The new business opened Monday, May 7th.
Russ Shemberger, whose athletic background is in the sport of swimming and triathlon, is the practice’s newly licensed massage therapist.

Fort Campbell’s Club Beyond presents Annual Muck Wars
Fort Campbell, KY – Fort Campbell’s Military Community Youth Ministries “Club Beyond” will present “The Braveheart Battles” for the fourth annual “Muck Wars” Saturday, May 19th at the Fort Campbell High School, 1101 Bastogne Avenue, Fort Campbell, KY.
Participants will divide into two armies (the Brits and the Scots) and take to the battlefield at 11:00am for gladiator games and then again at noon. The winning army earns a trophy.
The battle is expected to have more than 800 water balloons, 1,000 pounds of mud, splash artillery, flour bombs and stench cannons. It’s a way for teens to have good, clean fun while getting dirty. «Read the rest of this article»
Austin Peay Center at Fort Campbell offers Master of Arts in Teaching for Fall I term

Clarksville, TN – The Austin Peay Center at Fort Campbell will offer courses for the Master of Arts in Teaching (M.A.T.) degree for the Fall I term.
The M.A.T. provides opportunities for those who hold baccalaureate degrees to complete initial teacher licensure requirements and a master’s degree concurrently. The Fort Campbell Center program is available to individuals who wish to teach at the secondary level. Liberty Park Opens to the Public May 18th
Clarksville, TN – On Friday, May 18th, 2012, most of Liberty Park will be open for public use.
“We are thrilled that the day is here when we can allow the public to use most of these incredible facilities. The boat ramps have seen significant use already as has the marina basin. Now, more of the park will be available for fishing, walking, picnicking and all kinds of outdoor fun,” said Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan.

The Walking Trails along the Cumberland River are part at the new Liberty Park which opens on Friday

APSU has 20 Faculty chosen as Summer Faculty Research Fellows
Austin Peay State University
Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University had twenty faculty members chosen as awardees in the 2012 Summer Faculty Research Program (SRFP), which encourages the development of research/creative activity projects at the University.
The SFRP awards up to $5,000 for selected proposals by tenured or tenure-track faculty to develop a research or creative activity project that should place them in a better position to seek external funding.

Clarksville Downtown Market to give away free market tote bags to the first 600 visitors
Clarksville, TN – When the 2012 Clarksville Downtown Market opens on Saturday, May 19th, approximately 60 vendors will be on hand to offer local fresh produce, baked goods, home décor, seasonal flowers and more.
The opening of this year’s market will be like none other. Kids will be invited to participate in gardening crafts, Lydia Walker will be performing, Lousie Delgandio will demonstrate how to make crepes, and give-a-ways will be handed out every thirty minutes. Richview Middle School Students to Compete in National History Day Competition
Clarksville, TN – All Eighth grade PASS (gifted program) students in Montgomery County competed in the district level of the National History Day Contest on February 22nd, 2012.
Students who placed at the district level moved on to compete at the state level on April 22nd, 2012 in Nashville Tennessee.

Emily Ritchart, John Courson, Jake Kolaski, Sidney McCarty, and Cherie Saffold of Richview Middle School are heading to Washington D.C. to compete in National History Day.

Clarksville Academy holds Awards Night
Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Academy hosted its annual Awards Night on May 3rd, 2012 on Procter Court in the Miller Activities Center. Every Senior in this year’s class received a scholarship and all are going on to college.
These scholarships range from the Hope Lottery Scholarship to Athletic scholarships to Academic Scholarships. The Class of 2012 at Clarksville Academy has had a successful year and to date has received $4.8 million dollars in scholarship offers!

National Police Week 2012: Honoring and Remembering our Fallen Law Enforcement Officers
Clarksville, TN – In 1962, President John F. Kennedy signed Public Law 87-726 that set aside May 15th as National Peace Officers’ Memorial Day and the week in which May 15th falls as National Police Week. This year, National Police Week will run from Sunday, May 13th through Saturday, May 19th.
The law was later amended by the Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act of 1995, Public Law 103-322 signed by President Bill Clinton, directing that the flag of the United States be displayed at half-staff on all government buildings on May 15th each year as a tribute to law enforcement officers who have died in the line of duty. «Read the rest of this article»
