    Montgomery County Health Department will be doing Dental Screenings for Children at the Clarksville-Montgomery County Public Library July 18th

    Clarksville-Montgomery County Public LibraryClarksville, TN – On Wednesday, July 18th, from 9:00am to 3:00pm the Montgomery County Health Department Dental (Oral Health Services) staff will be at the Clarksville-Montgomery County Public Library to perform dental screenings and apply a dental fluoride varnish and sealant to children’s teeth.

    This program involves the application of fluoride varnish, a thin coating of resin that is applied to the surfaces of the teeth. The sealant application is a plastic coating that is placed on the chewing surfaces of the permanent back teeth. «Read the rest of this article»

    The National Association of Home Builders recently released an index of housing markets that are on the rise.

    National Association of Home BuildersWashington, D.C. – The National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) recently unveiled an index that tracks housing markets on the mend, the NAHB/First American Improving Markets Index (IMI). The IMI is intended to draw attention to the fact that housing markets are local and that there are metropolitan areas where economic recovery is underway.

    The index measures three readily available monthly data series that are independently collected and are indicative of improving economic health. The three are employment, house prices and single family housing permit growth.

    Austin Peay Students gain valuable experience with help of new 3-D Printers

    Austin Peay State UniversityClarksville, TN – Students enrolled in the engineering technology degree program at the Austin Peay Center at Fort Campbell may be amazed to see the colorful, three-dimensional objects they create using new specialized machines.

    However, they are gaining a lot more. The new state-of-the-art three-dimensional (3-D) printers are the tools used in the automotive and manufacturing industries, such as aerospace, medical, product design and small quantity commercial product manufacturing. This means students are getting the knowledge they need to use in the workforce.

    Dunbar Cave State Park Programs for July 15th through July 21st

    Clarksville, TNDunbar Cave State Natural Area has been a State Park since 1973. The cave and its surrounding 110 acres have considerable scenic, natural and historical significance. The entrance offered shelter to prehistoric Native Americans as far back as 10,000 years.
