    City of ClarksvilleClarksville, TN – Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan yesterday recognized the contributions of Catholic Charities of Tennessee in Middle Tennessee, especially in Clarksville and Montgomery County, in a meeting with Deasree Williams, counselor in the Adoption & Pregnancy Counseling program, and Mark Barry, agency marketing director, during which she presented a proclamation honoring the agency’s recent 50th anniversary.

    City of Clarksville launches new Website Design

    City of ClarksvilleClarksville, TN – Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan is introducing a new website design for the City. The new design is available today, August 1st, 2012 and offers significant changes to the City’s website look and increased usability.

    “We’ve been working on the redesign for about 6 months and I’m very excited about the changes. It looks entirely different and we’ve added some tools to make it easier to locate information quickly. My goal since taking office has been to increase transparency in government and to provide information that citizens want and need to be a part of their government. The website redesign is the next step in this effort,” said Mayor McMillan.

    Clarksville Citizen’s Police Academy applications now being accepted

    Clarksville Police DepartmentClarksville, TN – The Clarksville Police Department is now accepting applications for the upcoming Citizen’s Police Academy. The classes will begin September 18th and end November 27th.

    All classes are scheduled for Tuesday evenings.

    Applications are available at Police Headquarters, 135 Commerce Street at the front window and on the departments website www.clarksvillepd.org.

    Austin Peay State UniversityClarksville, TN – Several faculty and staff members at Austin Peay State University announce their recent professional and scholarly activities.

    Dr. Chad Brooks, associate professor of biology, co-authored an article about an amphibian-lethal virus in west Tennessee, and the article is published in the latest edition of Herpetological Review.     Austin Peay State University Summer Commencement to graduate 350 students August 10th

    Austin Peay State UniversityClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University will award degrees to approximately 350 students during its 83rd Summer Commencement on Friday, August 10th in the Dunn Center.

    Commencement will begin at 2:00pm. Doors will open at 1:00pm for guests.

    Shemberger completes rigorous triathlon training camp in Alabama

    Restore Performance MassageClarksville, TN – Russ Shemberger, a licensed massage therapist at Restore Performance Massage on Madison Street in Clarksville, completed the rigorous Lake Guntersville Long Course Triathlon Training Camp, held July 27th-29th in Scottsboro, AL.

    He was one of 50 participants in the camp, which trains triathletes from across the nation by swimming, biking and running a total of 140.6 miles – the distance of an Ironman – over the three-day event.

    Russ Shemberger, a licensed massage therapist with Restore Performance Massage, completed rigorous training at the Lake Guntersville Long Course Triathlon Training Camp held July 27th-29th in Scottsboro, AL.

    Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department hosts a new session of Youth Hip Hop & Jazz dance program

    Clarksville Parks and RecreationClarksville, TN – The Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department is introducing a new Hip Hop & Jazz dance program at the Crow Community Center, located at 211 Richview Road, for ages 5-16 years.

    Hip Hop & Jazz will begin August 15th and will be divided into classes for 5-7 years, 8-11 years and 12-16 years. This introductory class, taught by Ashley Denno, will introduce youth to the art of Jazz and Hip Hop dancing. «Read the rest of this article»

    Clarksville Academy staff attends iSummit

    Clarksville AcademyClarksville, TN – Ten representatives from Clarksville Academy recently attended and/or presented sessions at the iSummit in Atlanta Georgia. iSummit is a conference centered on using Apple or Mac based technology as an integral part of education. Approximately 900 educators were in attendance from 30 different schools located in the United States and additional countries.
