“Ten Strings and Tom”, “Chris Robertson”, and “Tres Hombres” to close out the 2012 Jammin’ in the Alley series
Clarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville together with U.S. Bank will be Jammin’ in Strawberry Alley once more this season on Friday, October 19th, 2012. Join us for this month’s free concert beginning at 7:00pm.
The concert features trio, “Ten Strings and Tom”, named for the instruments in their band- six string guitar, four string bass, and a Tom or one drum of a drum set. Members include Syd Hedrick (Guitar and Vocals), Skip Clark (Bass), and Tom Nadeau (Drums). Fall Open House at Bethel University in Clarksville October 10th
Clarksville, TN – Bethel University in Clarksville will host its annual Fall Open House from 5:30pm–7:30pm on Wednesday, October 10th.
The event is free and open to the public.
Attendees will enjoy refreshments, a live radio remote, and campus tours. Austin Peay State University ‘True Colors’ Homecoming 2012 is October 24th-27th
Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University will celebrate Homecoming 2012 with the theme, “True Colors.”
Homecoming is October 24th-27th. Here is a list of events planned as part of the week long celebration. Many of the events are open to the public.
Some of the events include a Student Talent Show, Golf Tournament, Alumni Receptions, 5K Run, Homecoming Parade, Homecoming Football game and so much more.

Clarksville Parks and Recreation Facility Hours Change for Fall Break Fun
Clarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville’s three community centers and Indoor Aquatic Center at New Providence will adjust their hours of operation for CMCSS Fall Break. From October 8th-12th, all three community centers will be open from 10:00am to 7:00pm.

Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department received a total of eight awards from the Tennessee Recreation and Parks Association at this year’s state convention held in Knoxville, Tennessee.

Clarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department is happy to announce the winners of this year’s “Art on the Park” contest.
The five finalists will receive their framed artwork and the opportunity to paint their design on various walls of the Heritage Park Skate park.

Austin Peay Downtown Gallery to present exhibition of new works by Paul Collins
Clarksville, TN – This month, the Austin Peay Downtown Gallery will present “Grow Where You’re Planted,” an exhibition of new works by APSU assistant professor of art Paul Collins.
The exhibit, which opens with a reception from 5:00pm-8:00pm on October 4th, will feature drawings and paintings inspired by the incredible rate of vegetative growth in the landscape of Middle Tennessee.
