“The Vagina Monologues” returns to the Roxy Regional Theatre for it’s Eleventh Year
Clarksville, TN – Eve Ensler’s touching, often hilarious series of monologues about women and performed by women has played to packed houses around the country, and the Roxy Regional Theatre’s production of “The Vagina Monologues” — beginning its eleventh year on Friday, January 11th, at 8:00pm — is no exception.
Leslie Greene and Adriane Wiley-Hatfield are joined by a different guest actor each week in readings of these monologues based on interviews Eve Ensler conducted with 200 women about their views on sex, relationships, and violence against women.

“Let’s Find: Teeth” at the Customs House Museum
Clarksville, TN – On Wednesday January 9th, the Customs House Museum and Cultural Center will hold their “Let’s Find: Teeth” program from 10:30am-11:30am.
Children 3-5 years old and their grown-ups are invited to explore the Museum from a child’s perspective. Remember to brush your teeth before you come to the Museum for this month’s activity because you’ll be visiting the office of Dr. Jefferson, a former Clarksville dentist.

Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department teaching youth about law enforcement and life
Clarksville, TN – The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department is mentoring area youth who want to pursue a career in law enforcement. Law Enforcement Exploring is Learning for Life’s career education program for young men and women 14 to 20 years old with an interest in a career in law enforcement.
This work-site based program, that is fully funded by donations, helps youth prepare for their future profession by experiencing fun-filled, hands-on activities. Learning for Life, which is a division of the Boy Scouts of America, focuses on the following five areas of emphasis: Career Opportunities, Leadership Experience, Character Education, Citizenship, and Life Skills.

Clarksville Academy teacher to attend Presidential Inauguration
Clarksville, TN – A Clarksville teacher will be getting the trip of a lifetime as she attends President Barack Obama’s inauguration.
Kimberly Goad is a sixth grade teacher at the Clarksville Academy, and was selected from a national field of educators to attend this year’s event. Goad will attend the presidential inaugural conference in Washington D.C., and will act as a faculty advisor for middle school students traveling to this prestigious event. Goad was chosen by the National Young Scholars Program.
