    Painter Gail Meyer and Photographer Tony Centonze to Exhibit at Planters Bank

    Planters BankClarksville, TN – The Planters Bank-Hilldale Gallery space will feature works from local artist Gail Meyer, along with photographs from Tony Centonze. The exhibits will be on display Thursday, February 7th-Wednesday, March 6th at 1971 Madison Street during regular bank hours.

    Meyer began her art studies in 1972 at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh. With a husband in the U.S. Air Force, Meyer’s ability to study art was tabled by military moves, family life and motherhood.

    Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan announces Design Review Task Force Members

    City of ClarksvilleClarksville, TN – Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan will host the first organizational meeting of the newly appointed Design Review Task Force on February 5th, 2013 at 3:00pm.

    The public meeting will take place in the City Hall Conference Room on the fourth floor of City Hall.     Austin Peay State UniversityClarksville, TN – The Austin Peay State University campus isn’t simply a home for some 11,000 students. Squirrels, rabbits, birds and a few feral cats have also taken up residence in the bushes and trees surrounding the red brick, Georgian-style buildings.

    They come here because of the abundance of food, water and shelter, but they stay because the campus offers these creatures a safe place to raise their young.

    Miller-Motte Technical CollegeClarksville, TN – Prom-O-Rama is coming to Clarksville again and a rainbow of color will be flowing through Miller-Motte Technical College’s (MMTC) campus soon. Hundreds of prom dresses will be collected at MMTC starting February 18th.

    In an effort to keep costs down for Montgomery County high school girls attending their proms, MMTC is collecting prom dresses from ladies in the community that wish to sell dresses they will no longer wear, but would like to sell.

    Dancing with the Stars returns to Clarksville

    Altrusa International of ClarksvilleClarksville TN – The dancers have been selected, so it’s time to get your scorecards ready and join Altrusa International Foundation for “Dancing with the Stars.”

    This annual event will take place on Saturday, March 16th at 7:00pm at the Austin Peay State University Music/Mass Communications building. Dancing with the stars is a fundraiser to provide scholarships to non-traditional students. The goal of this year’s event is $10,000.

Sometimes on walks she speaks English, discussing philosophy and the universe with her human companion, Greg. More often, she runs excitedly around a New York City apartment, doing dog things such as chewing up books and annoying Greg’s wife, Kate.
