    Rivers and Spires FestivalClarksville, TN – The Rivers and Spires Festival kicked off last night with performances by several outstanding bands that rocked Downtown Clarksville. The Festival continues tonight at 5:00pm with more music and activities for the entire family.

    Chris Monhollen a multi-talented musician and award winning vocalist from Clarksville, Tennessee hits the Family Fun Stage at 5:00pm. He has performed in numerous shows and local festivals in the Middle Tennessee area.

    Relay For Life Supports APSU Breast Cancer 5k and Survivors Dinner

    Relay for LifeClarksville, TN – On April 13th, in the midst of more than 200 runners, walkers and community supporters members of the Relay For Life Leadership joined the Breast Cancer 5k effort at Austin Peay State University.

    Leadership Team members Karen Davis, Brittnye Farley, Paul Farley and Cydney Miller volunteered to assist with guiding and encouraging the runners and walkers on the 5k route.

    Austin Peay State UniversityClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University held a topping-off ceremony Tuesday, April 16th at the construction site of the new Maynard Mathematics and Computer Science Building.

    James Maynard, a 1956 alumnus, local business and APSU supporter for whom the building is named, was the first to sign during the event.

    2013 Rivers and Spires Festival | April 18th-20th | Clarksville, TN

    Rivers and Spires FestivalClarksville, TN – The Rivers and Spires Festival begins this afternoon at 5:00pm in downtown Clarksville, TN. This three day event includes live music, art, food and activities for the kids.

    The music kicks off at 5:30pm on the Public Square Stage with Uncle Lenny. Uncle Lenny is cover band from Clarksville. Their music variety ranges from rock, to country, to some blues.

    Cowboy Mouth closes out tonight's River and Spires Festival at 8:30pm on the Public Square Stage.

    Rain expected Thursday night, Sunny but colder temperatures expected Friday and Saturday

    Rivers and Spires FestivalClarksville, TN – The weather this weekend for the Rivers and Spires Festival will be sunny and clear skies Friday and Saturday. However, on Thursday night, opening night of the festival, showers and thunderstorms are expected.

    The temperature will be in the low 50s and the chance of rain is 100 percent according to the National Weather Service.

    APSU Opera to perform Hansel and Gretel April 20th-21st

    APSU Department of MusicClarksville, TN – In 1980, a young Austin Peay State University music student named Lisa Conklin-Bishop performed the part of Hansel in the University’s staging of German composer Engelbert Humperdinck’s famous opera, “Hansel and Gretel.”

    Rivers and Spires FestivalClarksville, TN – The 11th annual Rivers and Spires Festival will be begin Thursday April 18th and continue through Saturday, April 20th. The streets of Historic Downtown Clarksville will be lined with food vendors, arts and crafts, and kids’ activities.

    There will be over 100 acts performing all three days on five seperate stages. Music, art, food, there is something at Rivers and Spires for everyone to enjoy. And the truly great thing is that all the concerts and activities are free.
