    Clarksville Downtown MarketClarksville, TN – When the 2013 Clarksville Downtown Market opens on Saturday, May 18th, approximately 70 vendors will be on hand to offer local fresh produce, baked goods, local honey, milk, home décor, seasonal flowers and more. The Clarksville Downtown Market will be open from 8:00am to 1:00pm every Saturday through October 19th on Public Square.

    Opening Day of the Market will also feature musical performances by Eric Compton & the APSU’s Community School of the Arts, cooking demonstration by Kristina Waters, Arts and Crafts for Kids by Cynthia Bellar and Chalk, Paper, Scissors, Market bags to the first 500 in attendance and prizes!

    35th Annual Queen City Road RaceClarksville, TN – The 35th Annual Queen City Road Race, scheduled for this Saturday, May 4th, is quickly approaching. Be aware that as the 5K and 7K race routes take runners through the streets of Historic Downtown Clarksville, there will be several road closures to accommodate the safety of the runners.

    The south bound lane of North 2nd Street to Main Street will be closed as well as the eastbound lane of College Street, and University Avenue to 8th Street.     Two Rivers Chapter Volunteers Working to Meet Emergency Needs

    American Red CrossClarksville, TN – Severe spring storms and flash floods poured torrential rain over much of Tennessee on Saturday morning and again in the evening.

    Eight homes were destroyed from the flood with 26 others sustaining major damage, across 4 counties including Henry, Houston, Montgomery and Stewart.     Dr. Twynham, a native of Minnesota, earned her medical degree from the University of Minnesota. She completed her general surgery residency at Marshfield Clinic in Marshfield, Wisconsin, and spent a year in a Fellowship in Bariatric and Minimally Invasive Surgery at the University of Minnesota. Dr. Twynham was in private practice in Minnesota and Alabama before moving to Clarksville.

    Leah Foote Shows ‘Snippets of Beauty’ at Planters Bank May 2nd

    Planters BankClarksville, TN – The Planters Bank-Hilldale Gallery space will feature “Snippets of Beauty,” a watercolor exhibit by Clarksville artist Leah Foote. The exhibit will be on display Thursday, May 2nd-Wednesday, June 5th at 1971 Madison Street during regular bank hours.

    Since retiring from a career in the local school system in 2007, Foote has devoted time to art. She has always been drawn to the light and translucence in watercolor, so it was natural for this medium to be her preference.
