APSU administrators have new titles this year
Clarksville, TN – Two members of the Austin Peay State University community returned to campus this fall with new job titles in order to maintain the University’s status as a thriving institution of higher education.
President Obama highlighted that status in August when he singled out APSU as a leader in using technology to better serve students.

Signs Now of Clarksville becomes Clarksville-Montgomery County Green Certified
Montgomery County, TN – Signs Now of Clarksville, celebrated their Clarksville-Montgomery County Green Certification with a Green Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on Thursday, September 19th.
Owner Dick Pryor and his team have worked hard to reduce their environmental impact. Pryor took a few minutes to elaborate on some of the things they are doing.

Clarksville Downtown Market this Saturday, September 21st
Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville Downtown Market will be on Public Square this Saturday from 8:00am-1:00pm. There will be Tennessee produce, meats, cut flowers, baked goods, and a variety of different arts and crafts available for purchase.
This has been a wonderful season this year. Once or twice the weather has not been as good to us as may be the case this Saturday but we will push through. There are now 5 weeks left so be sure to stop by and stock up on any items that you may need to have over the winter months.

Clarksville’s Indoor Aquatic Center to host event just for Toddlers
Clarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department is excited to host the first Toddler Splash of the indoor season on October 2nd.
This monthly event will take place on the first Wednesday of every month from 10:00am to 2:00pm at the Indoor Aquatic Center, located at 166 Cunningham Lane.

Austin Peay State University named a 2014 Military Friendly School
Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University continues to be recognized for its dedication to veterans and active duty military students with the announcement today (September 10th) that it has once again been named by Victory Media as a Military Friendly School for 2014.
The honor ranks APSU in the top 20 percent of all colleges, universities and trade schools nationwide, according to Victory Media, a veteran-owned business and publisher of G.I. Jobs and the Guide to Military Friendly Schools. The company surveyed more than 12,000 schools, according to the announcement.

Clarksville Parks and Recreation to hold Robert Clark Park and Blueway Ribbon Cutting
Clarksville, TN – On Saturday, September 28th, 2013, the Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department will hold a ribbon cutting to mark the opening of the Park and Blueway.
The event will begin at 9:00am at Robert Clark Park, 1449 Tiny Town Road, in Clarksville.

Montgomery County College and Career Fair September 23rd
Montgomery County, TN – The annual Montgomery County College and Career Night for students and their parents will be September 23rd, 2013 from 6:00om-8:00pm at Austin Peay State University’s Foy Fitness Center.

2013 Rivers and Spires Festival wins Five Awards at International Festival Conference
Clarksville, TN – The 2013 Rivers & Spires Festival walked away from the 58th Annual International Festivals & Events Association (IFEA) Convention with five more awards to add to its already impressive, and ever-growing, collection.
The 2013 IFEA/Haas & Wilkerson Pinnacle Awards were announced on September 16th at the IFEA Convention & Expo in Pittsburgh, PA. Theresa Harrington, Executive Director of the Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB), Doug Barber, Special Events Manager, and Jessica Goldberg, Director of Tourism, were all in attendance to accept the awards.
