APSU announces winner of 2013 Young Composers Award
Clarksville, TN – The winner of the 27th Annual Young Composer’s Competition at Austin Peay State University was recently announced by the APSU Center of Excellence for the Creative Arts. The winning composer is Christopher Chandler, of Rochester, NY, who won for his “deep in liquid indigo” for chamber ensemble.
Chandler was born in Savannah, GA, in 1986 and currently lives in Rochester, where he is pursuing a Ph.D. in composition at the Eastman School of Music. «Read the rest of this article»

Walk with Me Tennessee Program boasts another Prize Pack winner
Clarksville, TN – The Walk with Me Tennessee program proudly congratulates Prize Pack Winner, Lynne Carter! Carter received a Fitness Prize Pack for being the first participant to report the completion of the Athens, Tennessee Challenge.
It is not too late to join in on this program that challenges Clarksvillians to walk across the state using a series of challenges featuring trails in Clarksville as well as “virtual trails” in other Walk with Me Tennessee pilot communities such as Athens and Sevierville.

Clarksville Civil War Roundtable’s next meeting is November 20th, 2013

Clarksville, TN – The next meeting of the Clarksville (TN) Civil War Roundtable will be on Wednesday, November 20th, 2013 at the Bone & Joint Center, 980 Professional Park Drive, right across the street from Gateway Hospital. This is just off Dunlop Lane and Holiday Drive and only a few minutes east of Governor’s Square mall.
The meeting begins at 7:00pm and is always open to the public. Members please bring a friend or two – new recruits are always welcomed.

Torrance, CA – Spencer Coleman of Coleman Tractor Company, with dealerships in Paris and Clarksville Tennessee, has been elected to represent the Southeast Division and serve on the 2013 National Dealer Advisory Board for Kubota Tractor Corporation.
Comprised of eight members representing all regions of the U.S., this Board is a critical link in the dealer-manufacturer relationship with Kubota.

Clarksville’s 2nd annual Handmade Holiday event sees large turnout, continues Sunday, November 17th
Clarksville, TN – On Saturday, November 16th the Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department put on the 2nd Annual Handmade Holidays event at the Wilma Rudolph Event Center located at Clarksville’s Liberty Park. The event kicked off at 10:00am and went until 6:00pm.
Vendors were on hand selling handmade and handcrafted holiday themed items. The event has grown from last years 40 booths to over 60 vendor booths this year.

Clarksville-Montgomery County Economic Development Council (EDC) to search for new Executive Director
Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville-Montgomery County, Tennessee Economic Development Council (EDC) Executive Board is pleased to announce they have initiated the search for the new EDC Executive Director.

Clarksville, TN – A long time ago, in a library far, far away, the staff of the Clarksville-Montgomery County Public Library, tired of endlessly traveling through time and the relative dimensions of space, decided to go where no library had gone before and create a program celebrating Science Fiction and Fantasy genre.
