“Delights of Winter” exhibit at Clarksville’s Downtown Artists Co-op
An Exhibit by Heike Sichterman and Claus “Dutch” Mann
Clarksville, TN – The Downtown Artists Co-op is proud to present “Delights of Winter”, an exhibit of fine art featuring Claus “Dutch” Mann and Heike Sichterman. The exhibit features hand-made jewelry and photography by Heike and intricate, wood carvings by Dutch. The Exhibit begins January 2nd, 2014 and runs through February 1st.
For this exhibit, Heike was inspired by “the European palaces built in the Baroque style. The opulence and splendor in gold and vivid colors one would see in the interior, (this) is what I tried to recreate in my jewelry reminiscent of what the ladies would wear for a lavish Winter Ball.“

Celebrate the New Year at Clarksville’s Indoor Aquatic Center
Clarksville, TN – Bring in the New Year in a splashing way! Visit the Indoor Aquatic Center at New Providence this New Year’s Eve for the 3rd annual New Year’s Eve Splash!
The Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department is hosting a New Year’s Eve pool party from 8:30pm to 12:30am on Monday, December 31st.

Clarksville’s Dunbar Cave State Park to host 1st Hike of 2014
Clarksville, TN – Join us as on January 1st as we begin the first day of the new year at Dunbar Cave with our first hike through the woods and around the lake.

Christmas Tree Recycle Drop-Off at Rotary Park
Montgomery County, TN – Friends of Rotary Park is sponsoring their first Christmas Tree Recycle program. From December 28th to January 11th, you can drop off your live tree at Rotary Park to have them recycled to help certain areas in the trails and updating the landscape.
Drop-off is during park hours only and located across from the playground parking lot (follow signs). Please, when dropping off your tree that they are clean from any decoration including lights, tinsels and tree stand.

Planters Bank January Exhibit features Drawings and Paintings by Bob Privett
2014 Slate of Exhibits Announced
Clarksville, TN – The drawings and paintings of local artist Bob Privett will be on display at the Planters Bank-Hilldale Gallery from Thursday, January 2nd – Wednesday, February 5th.
In his exhibit titled, “Retrospective—Inspirations from April through December,” Privett shares paintings and drawings of people he met and places he visited while traveling through the United States, Canada, and Europe.

Clarksville Transit System to provide Free Rides on Christmas Eve
Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville Transit System (CTS) will provide free transportation throughout the city on December 24th, 2013.
This includes rides to the Annual Warm Souls Christmas event hosted by Radical Mission Compassionate Ministries.

Montgomery County Offices will be Closed for Christmas Holiday
Montgomery County, TN – Montgomery County Government Offices will be closed Tuesday, December 24th and Wednesday, December 25th, 2013 for the Christmas holiday. Public Safety personnel will report as scheduled.
Montgomery County offices will reopen on Thursday, December 26th, 2013, at their normal business hours.
Have a safe and merry holiday season.

City of Clarksville offices closed for Christmas Holiday
Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan is reminding everyone that all City of Clarksville offices will be closed on Tuesday and Wednesday, December 24th and 25th, 2013, for the Christmas holiday.
