APSU professor Karen Crow to represent Mid-South in National Vocal Competition
Clarksville, TN – Karen Crow, Austin Peay State University adjunct professor of voice, has been chosen to represent the Mid-South Region in the National Association of Teachers of Singing Artist Award (NATSAA) competition at the association’s upcoming National Conference in Boston this July.
The competition is held biennially in conjunction with the association’s National Conference.

Clarksville’s Rivers and Spires Brings One-Stop Entertainment Spot to Clarksville Next Week
Clarksville, TN – It’s hard to believe that another year has gone by and the biggest event of the season is only one short week away.
Next week, starting on Thursday, April 24th, Rivers and Spires will kick off the three-day festival with Throwback Thursday. An evening full of 80’s music, food and of course, Coors Light, Throwback Thursday will bring a total 80’s experience to Clarksville’s Public Square.

Hilltop Super Market’s 19th Annual Easter Egg Hunt happens Saturday, April 19th
Clarksville, TN – On Saturday, April 19th, 2014, Hilltop Super Market will hold their 19th Annual Easter Egg Hunt 19th Annual Easter Egg Hunt at 2:00pm. Festivities start at 11:00am.

Clarksville Parks and Recreation’s Spring Eggstravanganza happens this Saturday, April 19th
Clarksville, TN – On Saturday, April 19th, 2014, the Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department will hold their annual Spring Eggstravanganza at Heritage Park Sports Complex.
The fun kicks off at 1:00pm with free activities for children followed by the hunting of over 20,000 candy and prize-filled eggs.

Artist Applications Available for 2014 Frolic on Franklin
Clarksville, TN – Artist applications are now available for booth space at the 9th Annual “Frolic on Franklin: A Celebration of the Arts.” The event will be held on Saturday, September 13th from 8:30am-3:30pm in the 100-block of Franklin Street.
Artists may display, sell, and demonstrate original and hand-created items.
Participation is limited to 28 applicants and a $25.00 entry fee is required.

APSU Breast Cancer 5k Supports Relay For Life

Clarksville, TN – On April 5th, more than 200 runners, walkers and community supporters braved the chill of early spring for the 4th Annual Breast Cancer 5k at Austin Peay State University.
With proceeds earmarked for breast cancer treatment and research, the Montgomery County Relay For Life is very fortunate for the continued support of Austin Peay State University and for the community for participation in the Breast Cancer 5k since the Relay For Life effort supports the battle against all forms of cancer.

Clarksville, TN – The award-winning Rivers and Spires Festival is a community driven event that is organized by hundreds of dedicated volunteers each year. But, in order to be successful, we need your support!

Austin Peay State University adds new computer networking concentration for Bachelor of Science degree
Clarksville, TN – Tucked down a hallway in the new Austin Peay State University Maynard Mathematics and Computer Science Building, there’s a little-known computer lab that operates off the main campus grid. The 24 PCs that line the room have access to the internet, but they are not part of the APSU network.
“They’re totally disconnected from anything on campus,” Dr. Bruce Myers, chair of the APSU Department of Computer Science and Information Technology, said. “We use it to teach computer networking, but to teach that, you can’t just take your typical computer in a lab and let people starting working.
