Clarksville Montgomery County Girl Scouts Receive Highest Honors
Montgomery County, TN – More than 275 Girl Scouts and volunteers were honored at the Girl Scouts of Middle Tennessee’s Salute to Outstanding Leadership Awards ceremony last month. The ceremony took place at Lipscomb University’s Allen Arena and Girl Scouts of Middle Tennessee Alumna Sarah Lankford was the featured speaker.
During the ceremony, 58 Girl Scouts from throughout Middle Tennessee received the Gold Award, 117 Girl Scouts received the Silver Award, 106 Girl Scouts received the Stellar Seller Award and 12 adult volunteers were honored.

Clarksville-Montgomery County hosts Successful Red Carpet Community Tour Event
Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville-Montgomery County Industrial Development Board (IDB) hosted their third annual, two-day ‘Red Carpet Community Tour’ for site selection consultants.
The event, scheduled around the Nashville–based CMT Awards Show, is an excellent opportunity for attendees to gain first-hand knowledge of the assets that Clarksville-Montgomery County and the surrounding area have to offer.

New APSU class combines service learning with study abroad
Clarksville, TN – On a cold, overcast morning in November, hundreds of well-dressed shoppers huddled against the wind outside a west London British Red Cross store. In America, this type of establishment is simply referred to as a thrift store, but in England, these shops tend to be a little swankier.
“What we think of as a thrift store is not really the same as their thrift stores,” Tracy Nichols, Austin Peay State University communication instructor, said. “Some of their stores are like upscale, New York boutiques.”

Clarksville Park and Recreations to host 4th annual Warrior Week Car/Truck/Bike Show, June 14th

Clarksville, TN – Every Saturday in June, the Clarksville Transit System is offering free rides.
“We have so many loyal customers and we want to show them our appreciation,” said Arthur Bing of the Clarksville Transit System. “It is CTS’ 27th anniversary and we want to thank our everyday customers and welcome new riders.”

Planters Bank Promotes Amanda Vinson and Jessica Shaw
Hopkinsville, KY – Planters Bank announces the promotions of Amanda Vinson to Vice President/Commercial Lending and Jessica Shaw to Commercial Banking Officer.
Vinson joined Planters Bank in January 2005 as a customer service representative and was later promoted to credit analyst, senior credit analyst, and assistant vice president. Vinson graduated from Houston County High School and received a B.B.A with a concentration in Finance from Austin Peay State University in 2002. She is married to Dane.
