Clarksville, TN – The weekly Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department Recreation Report provides Clarksvillians with a glimpse at the activities and events that are available from the Parks and Recreation Department for them to enjoy together as a family.
This weeks highlights include: Movies in the Park features ‘Wizard of Oz’, Ford Street Mountain Bike Trail Park and Adaptive Yoga to start in July.

City of Clarksville’s Independence Day Celebration to take place at Liberty Park July 3rd
Clarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville is celebrating our nation’s independence this year with the seventh annual Independence Day Celebration on Thursday, July 3rd, 2014 at Liberty Park for food, fun and entertainment for the entire family.
The event is free and begins at 6:30pm. Seating is available throughout the park and the concerts will take place on the Great Lawn of the Wilma Rudolph Event Center.

APSU’s Gregory Singleton named Omicron Delta Kappa Faculty Officer of the Year
Clarksville, TN – Gregory R. Singleton, Austin Peay State University associate vice president and dean of students, was recently selected by Omicron Delta Kappa as the 2014 recipient of the Morlan-Bishop Faculty Officer of the Year Award during the ODK National Convention and Centennial Celebration, held in Lexington, VA, June 11th-1th, 2014.

Clarksville Parks and Recreation to start Adaptive Yoga in July
Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Parks and Recreation is excited to announce the launch of a new program! Beginning Thursday July 10th, The Burt-Cobb Community Center will host Adaptive Yoga.
Adaptive Yoga is a beginner yoga class for those members of the community with cognitive disabilities.

Beachaven Winery’s Jazz on the Lawn this Saturday, June 21st with The Dance Band
Clarksville, TN – Beachaven Winery kicks off it’s ‘Jazz on the Lawn’ concert series Saturday, May 10th featuring music by the Jim Gibson Band.
The music starts at 6:30pm and goes until 9:30pm.

Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville Rotary Club inducted new officers and recognized members for their service during their annual Paul Harris Fellow Dinner at the Clarksville Country Club, Tuesday night, June 7th.

Clarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville’s Parks and Recreation Department invites the public to the Ford Street Mountain Bike Trail Park on Saturday, June 28th to celebrate the official grand opening of the newly constructed mountain biking trail park.

Clarksville-Montgomery County Public Library to host Imagination Library “Hats Off To Reading” with Celebrity Readers, June 25th
Clarksville, TN – Channel 4 Chief Meteorologist Lisa Spencer will be among the celebrity readers at the Clarksville-Montgomery County Public Library Wednesday, June 25th for a child-centered event to highlight the Montgomery County Imagination Library.
Other guest readers include GNASH, the Nashville Predators mascot, Kirby Cannon, APSU Head Football Coach, along with the APSU Governor’s mascot and the Tender Paws therapy dogs.
The fun will begin at 10:00 that morning in the atrium of the library.
