Clarksville Parks and Recreation to offer Twilight Basketball at Kleeman Community Center
Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville Parks and Recreation is excited to announce a new opportunity for basketball enthusiasts ages 18 and older, Twilight Basketball!
Twilight Basketball will be held at the Kleeman Community Center, located at 166 Cunningham Lane, on Fridays October 17th-December 29th from 5:00pm to 10:00pm.

Montgomery County Historical Society to show “Dorothy Dix: An American Journalist” documentary film by Inga Filippo Monday, September 15th
Clarksville, TN – The new documentary film “Dorothy Dix: An American Journalist” will be highlighted at the next meeting of the Montgomery County Historical Society on Monday, September 15th at the Beach Civic Hall in the Veterans Plaza complex on Pageant Lane.
The meeting will start at 7:00pm. Inga Filippo, who researched and wrote the film script, will introduce the screening.

APSU Center for Extended and Distance Education offers more classes, easier registration
Clarksville, TN – This fall, the Center for Distance and Extended Education at Austin Peay State University is looking to transform lives throughout the community with its expanded course offerings and its new, easy to use online registration system, signmeup.apsu.edu.
The new system lets individuals view the hundreds of courses and programs offered by the Center, select a course that interests them and then enroll immediately, using the easy online registration system. Clarksville Civil War Roundtable’s next meeting is September 17th, 2014

Clarksville, TN – The next meeting of the Clarksville (TN) Civil War Roundtable will be on Wednesday, July 16th, 2014 at the Bone & Joint Center, 980 Professional Park Drive, right across the street from Gateway Medical Center. This is just off Dunlop Lane and Holiday Drive and only a few minutes east of Governor’s Square mall.
The meeting begins at 7:00pm and is always open to the public. Members please bring a friend or two – new recruits are always welcomed.

Fort Defiance to host “Sevier Days” pre-Civil War event
Clarksville, TN – The Fort Defiance Interpretive Center, located at 120 Duncan Street, is excited to present “Sevier Days,” an 18th century, pre-Civil War event, Saturday, September 27th, 2014 from 10:00am to 5:00pm.
This event will focus on the historical frontier and colonial period of Clarksville and will feature reenactors, flintlock musket firing demonstrations, a flint knapper making Indian arrowheads, and an authentic blacksmith operation and frontier camp life.

Austin Peay State University continues to climb U.S. News and World Report’s Best Colleges list
Clarksville, TN – The U.S. News & World Report Best Colleges 2015 rankings were released Tuesday, September 9th, and Austin Peay State University ranked 27th in the Top Public Schools, Regional Universities (South) category.
APSU placed 62nd overall in the Regional Universities (South) category, up seven spots from last year.
