    Indoor Aquatic Center - New ProvidenceClarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department invites you to enjoy the Indoor Aquatic Center at New Providence, located at 166 Cunningham Lane, this fall and winter!

    The Indoor Aquatic Center opens its doors for the Indoor Season on Wednesday, October 1st. Enjoy a day of swimming and get wet and wild with the popular water play equipment from 6:30am to 12:00pm and 3:00pm until 8:00pm.

    APSU, Clarksville Chamber and Montgomery County Hosting Veterans and Homecoming Celebrations this November

    Clarksville, TN – This November, Austin Peay State University will partner with Montgomery County and the Clarksville-Area Chamber of Commerce to honor the veterans and military-affiliated individuals who live, study and work in this community.

    The University is tailoring its 2014 Homecoming Celebration that month to include the military theme “Gov Strong,” creating a week long community and university celebration for local veterans. Both entities will host several events during the first week of November, culminating in a joint Homecoming/Veterans Day Parade through downtown Clarksville and campus at 10:00am on November 8th.

    Clarksville AcademyClarksville, TN – Clarksville Academy proudly announces Rebekah Lynn, the daughter of Dr. Bart & Kim Lynn as the school’s 2014 Homecoming Queen.

    Rebekah is a senior at Clarksville Academy and is a member of the varsity soccer & tennis teams. She is also active in Key Club, National Honor Society, FCA, & Senior Class President. She was escorted by Connor Blackman, son of Dr. Scott & Jennifer Blackman.

    October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, and in a campaign to raise awareness to the fight against cancer, Valvoline painted their building pink.

    Austin Peay Phi Alpha Theta History Honor Society wins sixth Best Chapter of the Year award

    Austin Peay State University - APSUClarksville, TN – The Austin Peay State University Phi Alpha Theta History Honor Society was named the best chapter in the nation earlier this month, but the announcement didn’t come as much of a surprise. The APSU chapter, Theta-Delta, has won the best chapter award six years in a row.

    “I have to admit, I’ve become somewhat accustomed to Theta-Delta winning,” Joe Weber, director of library services at APSU, said.

    Clarksville’s Dunbar Cave State Park Programs for October 2nd through October 9th, 2014

    Dunbar Cave State Park - Clarksville TNClarksville, TNDunbar Cave State Natural Area has been a State Park since 1973. The cave and its surrounding 110 acres have considerable scenic, natural and historical significance. The entrance offered shelter to prehistoric Native Americans as far back as 10,000 years.

    Dunbar Cave State Natural Area will present many nature programs this summer. There are programs for children and adults.

    Some of the upcoming events include: Port Royal Plant Walk, Raccoons and Ripe Corn, Evening Nature Hike, Port Royal History Walk, Trees of Dunbar Cave, Evening Nature Walk, Trees of Port Royal, and Full Moon Hike.
