Clarksville Parks and Recreation’s Fly Fishing program for youth and teens is back
Clarksville, TN – Do you like fishing? Are you interested in aquatic environments? Clarksville Parks and Recreation has once again teamed up with the National Fishing in Schools Program to offer a class in basic fly fishing!
Class will be held at the Crow Community Center on Thursdays from 4:00pm to 5:00pm, March 5th through March 26th, and is open to grades 6-12.

APSU to host annual GuitarFest event
Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University and the Center of Excellence for the Creative Arts present the annual APSU GuitarFest, which will feature guest artist concerts, lectures and workshops.
The concerts take place on Monday, February 16th and Tuesday, February 17th at 7:30pm in the Music/Mass Communication Building’s Mabry Concert Hall and are free and open to the public.

“Honky Tonk Angels” Brings Classic Country Hits to the Roxy Regional Theatre, February 13th – March 7th
Clarksville, TN – Move over, Tammy, Dolly and Loretta … there’s a new trio in town! Classic country gets a musical makeover in Ted Swindley’s “Honky Tonk Angels” at the Roxy Regional Theatre, beginning February 13th at 8:00pm.
Audiences who could not get enough of Always…Patsy Cline will find the perfect match in creator Ted Swindley’s follow-up, which combines over 30 classic country tunes (including “I’ll Fly Away,” “Stand by Your Man,” “Harper Valley PTA,” “9 to 5,” “Coal Miner’s Daughter,” “Ode to Billy Jo,” “These Boots Are Made for Walking,” “Rocky Top” and “I Will Always Love You”) with a hilarious story about three gutsy gals who are determined to better their lives and follow their dreams to Nashville.

Clarksville Downtown Market vendor applications to be available soon
Clarksville, TN – Vendors, it is almost time to apply for this year’s season of the Clarksville Downtown Market! Beginning February 17th, vendor applications will be available at the Clarksville Parks and Recreation main office, located at 102 Public Square or online at www.clarksvilledowntownmarket.com .
The 2015 market season will take place downtown on Public Square, Saturdays from 8:00am to 1:00pm, beginning May 16th through October 10th.

Clarksville’s Dunbar Cave State Park Programs for February 12th through February 15th, 2015
Clarksville, TN – Dunbar Cave State Natural Area has been a State Park since 1973. The cave and its surrounding 110 acres have considerable scenic, natural and historical significance. The entrance offered shelter to prehistoric Native Americans as far back as 10,000 years.
Dunbar Cave State Natural Area will present many nature programs during the year. There are programs for children and adults.
Some of the upcoming events include: Friends of Dunbar Cave Meeting, Bird Hike, Winter Trees and Sunset Hike.

City of Clarksville announces Property Tax Payments can be made on Saturdays in February
Clarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville Finance and Revenue Department will be open each Saturday during the month of February to receive property tax payments. The office will be open from 8:30am to 12:30pm.
The expanded office hours will help to accommodate citizens that otherwise would not be able to perform their City business during the regular weekday hours of 7:30am to 5:00pm. The offices are located on the first floor of City Hall. «Read the rest of this article»
Austin Peay State University graduate communication program named one of the nation’s best
Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University’s graduate degree in communication arts is one of the top online programs in the nation, according to a recent survey by Affordable Colleges Online (ACO).
The national online resource released its Top Online Programs for 2015 rankings earlier this week, and the APSU master’s degree program, with concentrations in general communication and corporate communication, was ranked #30 in the country.
