Citizens learn about the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, protection against fraud at community meeting
Montgomery County, TN – Citizens who attending Saturday’s Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Community Information Exchange learned more about the SO and how to protect themselves from forgery and fraud.
The meeting, held at Living Hope Baptist Church, was kicked off by host Pastor Derek Smith.
“We are glad to host this meeting, and appreciate everything you all do to keep us safe,” Smith said.
Montgomery County Sheriff John Fuson spoke to everyone about the duties of the Sheriff’s Office, and explained how the various sections work.

Jay Doolittle Returns for “Tuesdays with Morrie” at the Roxy Regional Theatre, March 27th – April 11th

Sixteen years after his college graduation, sportswriter Mitch Albom (played by Matthew Whitfield) happens to catch his former professor’s appearance on a television news program and learns that Morrie is battling ALS, more commonly known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease.

APSU plays host to Phi Alpha Theta Regional History Conference
Clarksville, TN – The Dean of Austin Peay State University’s College of Arts and Letters, Dr. Dixie Webb, knows first-hand the possibilities for a student pursuing a degree in history.
Webb shared those thoughts with the over 130 attendees of the annual Phi Alpha Theta (PAT) Regional History Conference, held February 28th on the campus of APSU. Founded in 1921, PAT exists to promote the study of history and is one of the largest honor societies in existence.

“Vast Planes to Quark’s Feel,” a senior thesis exhibition by Marcus Eiland at APSU’s Trahern Gallery 108
Clarksville, TN – Local artist Marcus Eiland will be displaying his digital sculpture in the show, “Vast Planes to Quark’s Feel” at Austin Peay State University’s Trahern Gallery 108 from March 23rd–26th, between 10:00am – 5:00pm.

Cheers for Charity is an evening of wine tasting with a little competition! Each team, consisting of two people, will bring three bottles of the same wine.

New APSU scholarship honors late Clarksville teacher Lynda Conner
Clarksville, TN – When Lynda Wilkerson Conner attended Austin Peay State University in the early 1960s, she had a hard time finding a place to do her student teaching. Clarksville was a small, quiet town in those days, with a population of about 22,000 people and only a handful of public schools scattered around the area.
In order to fulfill her student teaching requirement and graduate, Conner had to travel nearly an hour out of town to a rural school in Greenbriar, Tennessee.

Spots are filling quickly for the 4th annual “Wettest Egg Hunts”
Clarksville, TN – A not-so-typical egg hunt will once again be hosted at the Indoor Aquatic Center, located at 166 Cunningham Lane.
On Saturday, March 28th, thousands of colored eggs will be floating or sunk in the center’s pools, each good for candy and prizes. An adaptive egg hunt will be offered for children and adults with special needs at 11:00am with the remaining hunts for children ages 1 to 11 following from 1:00pm to 7:00pm.

Clarksville’s Jostens marks Five Star Food Service’s 400th Micro-Market
Chattanooga, TN – Eight months ago became one of the nation’s first independent vending operators to surpass the 300 micro-market threshold. Last week Five Star celebrated the opening of its 400th micro-market at a Jostens production facility in Clarksville, TN.
The Jostens installation marks the 133rd micro-market Five Star has opened this fiscal year which ends this month.
