Clarksville’s Dunbar Cave State Park Programs for April 8th through April 13th, 2015
Clarksville, TN – Dunbar Cave State Natural Area has been a State Park since 1973. The cave and its surrounding 110 acres have considerable scenic, natural and historical significance. The entrance offered shelter to prehistoric Native Americans as far back as 10,000 years.
Dunbar Cave State Natural Area will present many nature programs during the year. There are programs for children and adults.
Some of the upcoming events include: Port Royal History Walk, Dunbar Cave History, Friends of Dunbar Cave Meeting, Bird Hike, Volunteer Day/Mulching Day and The Secret World of Bats.

Clarksville Parks and Recreation’s 10th season of Movies in the Park begins May 2nd
Clarksville, TN – Movies in the Park, the City’s free, outdoor movie series, will celebrate its 10th season as it kicks off, Saturday, May 2nd, with a showing of Pitch Perfect (PG-13)!
The season begins with the first five showings at Heritage Park, located at 1241 Peachers Mill Road, and will continue with the last six showings at Liberty Park, located at 1188 Cumberland Drive.

Miss River Queen, Teen Will Be Crowned This Weekend
Clarksville, TN – The search is on for this year’s Miss River Queen and River Teen. The annual pageant will be held April 4th, 2015 in Clement Auditorium on the campus of Austin Peay State University.
The pageant begins at 7:00pm and doors open at 6:30pm. Tickets are $10.00 per person and may be purchased at the door. The event is open to the public.

Clarksville Gas and Water Department Transitions to New Online Utility Bill Payment Processing Service
Online and automated payment by phone service will be temporarily unavailable
Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Gas and Water is pleased to announce the transition to a new online customer payment processing service. The new service will include the same secure online payment services as before, but will feature a new convenient One Time Payment option for monthly utility bill payment.
Customers will be able to select the new One Time Payment button on the Gas and Water home page, www.clarksvillegw.com , then choose Visa, MasterCard or Discover credit card payment or E-Check payment without establishing an “Access My Account” login and password.

Cumberland Arts Center to present the comedy “Here Lies Jeremy Troy”
Clarksville, TN – Make your reservations now for the upcoming dinner theatre production of “Here Lies Jeremy Troy” scheduled for April 17th, 18th, 24th, and 25th.
“Here Lies Jeremy Troy” is a comedy written by Jack Sharkey and is being directed by Art Conn.
The play centers on a law clerk, who is up for promotion, and is visited by a school chum who lives by sponging off classmates.

Vendor application deadline approaches for the 2015 Clarksville Downtown Market
Clarksville, TN – Do you want to sell your homegrown or homemade items this summer? Clarksville Parks and Recreation is accepting applications for 2015 Downtown Market vendors- but time is running out!
Applications are available online at www.cityofclarksville.com/downtownmarket and must be submitted no later than April 3rd. Potential vendors may complete the form online or download a printable version to be submitted to 102 Public Square. Any applications submitted later than April 3rd will not be considered for the 2015 market.

Hilltop Super Market’s to hold 20th Annual Easter Egg Hunt this Saturday, April 4th
Clarksville, TN – Hilltop Super Market will hold their 19th Annual Easter Egg on Saturday, April 4th, 2015 at 2:00pm. Festivities start at 11:00am.
There will be inflatables, face painting, bounce houses, festivities, games, fun, food and prizes for children of all ages. Bring your camera and take your picture with the Easter Bunny.

APSU’s annual GuitarFest rescheduled for April 13th-14th
Clarksville, TN – Having fallen afoul of last month’s wintery weather, Austin Peay State University’s annual GuitarFest will now take place on April 13th and 14th in the Kimbrough Building’s Gentry Auditorium.
On April 13th, multi-competition winner and APSU alumnus Gary Stewart will perform a recital of nineteenth century music for solo guitar. The April 14th concert will feature the Hanser-McClellan Duo in a performance of music for two guitars. Both evening concerts are at 7:30pm and are free and open to the public.

Tilted Kilt of Clarksville’s Anaeli Gomez is Top 50 Finalist for Scholarship and National Calendar
Clarksville, TN – Anaeli Gomez of Clarksville has placed as a Top 50 Finalist in the Tilted Kilt 2016 National Calendar Girl Competition, beating out hundreds of Kilt Girl competitors across the country. Gomez is a bartender and server at Tilted Kilt Clarksville.
The final round of competition is an online voting round taking place now through April 30th. The 15 girls that get the most votes online will receive a spot on the 2016 National Kilt Girl Calendar as well as trip to California and a $2,000 scholarship.
