    Mid South Softball AssociationClarksville, TN – On February 6th, 2016 the Mid South Softball Association will be holding signups inside Governors Square Mall at Dick’s Sporting Goods. Ages are from 5-6 year old T-Ball through 23U Fastpitch Women’s League.

    Mid South Softball Association features top level coaching, training and officiating. It is affiliated with the USSSA. The registration fee is $75.00.

    The Customs House Museum and Cultural CenterClarksville, TN – The Planters Bank Peg Harvill Gallery in the Customs House Museum has become a curiosity shop of sorts this February. Mergings: A Visual Exploration is an exhibit of glass by Tennessee artist Jennifer Crescuillo.

    Jennifer has manipulated her medium into everyday objects such as data cartridges and adding machines that do not appear to be what the average visitor expects to see in a glass exhibit.

    Rivers and Spires announces Kellie Pickler as Headliner for 2016 Festival

    Rivers and Spires FestivalClarksville, TN – The Rivers and Spires Festival is pleased to announce Kellie Pickler and Plumb as the Festival headliners for Saturday, April 16th. Kellie Pickler will perform on the Public Square Stage at 7:30pm. Plumb will perform on the Christian Stage at 7:00pm. All concerts are free and open to the public.

    Country music artist and television personality, Kellie Pickler rose from a small town country girl to American celebrity. You might know Kellie from the 2005 ‘American Idol’ season where she finished sixth or from her numerous singles on the Billboard Hot Country Songs list, like “I Wonder”, “Best Days of Your Life”, and “Red High Heels.”

    APSU unveils new exhibition of artwork from permanent collection

    Austin Peay State University - APSUClarksville, TN – The Austin Peay State University Department of Art and Design is pleased to announce a new exhibit of artwork from the University’s Permanent Art Collection, curated by Sara Straussberger, the 2015-16 Jewel Birdsong Art Collection Scholarship recipient.

    Works in the exhibit, “A Conversation with Place and Being,” will range from a gestural figure drawing to a meticulous landscape etching.

    A series of nonfiction essays comprised of the author’s research into work, loss, Emily Dickinson, and entomophagy, or the human consumption of insects, “Wherever The Land Is” explores a possible answer to humanity’s growing need for food sources.

    Montgomery Central Little League registration for 2016 going on now

    Montgomery Central Little LeagueCunningham, TN – The Montgomery Central Little League is holding registration for the 2016 season. Kids ages 4-18 years old can be registered for Baseball and Girls Softball.

    Games will be held at the new RichEllen Park located at 1466 Highway 149.

    The next registration will be held at Pages Sporing Goods located on Madison Street right beside Firehouse Subs from 9:00am until 12:00pm.

    Clarksville Parks and Recreation DepartmentClarksville, TN – Registration for the Clarksville Parks and Recreation Youth Recreation Leagues is underway. Participants can register now through March 28th at any of our three community centers, the Parks and Recreation office as well as online at www.cityofclarksville.com/parksrec

    The baseball, softball and t-ball leagues are open to youth ages 5 to 14. For first time participants, birth certificates are required at time of registration to verify the child’s age.
