Austin Peay State University students participate in community service during Spring Break
Clarksville, TN – During the Spring Break holiday, three groups of APSU students spent a week volunteering on Alternative Break Trips through the Austin Peay State University Center for Service-Learning & Community Engagement. Collectively, these students completed nearly 500 hours of community service.

Rainbow Kids Clinic Achieves Clarksville-Montgomery County Green Certification
Montgomery County, TN – Rainbow Kids Clinic recently celebrated becoming a Clarksville-Montgomery County Green Certified organization.
City of Clarksville Chief of Administration Charlie Gentry, Montgomery County Communications Director Elizabeth Black, Chamber of Commerce President Melinda Shepherd and Clarksville-Montgomery County Green Certification Manager Michelle Newell were there to congratulate the medical staff at Rainbow Kids Clinic.

Austin Peay State University engineering technology students excel at state conference
Clarksville, TN – Three students in the Austin Peay State University Department of Engineering Technology recently earned top honors at the 125th Tennessee Academy of Science Meeting, held in Murfreesboro, TN.
APSU student Nicole Kirch won the first prize in the engineering and engineering technology posters section, with her paper titled “Comparison of the effectiveness of various filters on audio signals.” Kirch worked with Dr. Na Zhu, APSU associate professor of engineering technology.

Clarksville Parks and Recreation to host first-ever Adaptive Walk at Liberty Park
Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Parks and Recreation invites children and adults of all abilities to participate in a walk on Saturday, April 16th from 1:00pm to 3:00pm at Liberty Park.
Clarksville City Forester, Kathrine Stevenson will meet participants at the Valor Pavilion, located near the dog park, and take them on a guided tour through the paved and wooden walkways of the park.

Austin Peay State University alumnus Vincent Wilson named Coordinator of Highland Crest Campus
Clarksville, TN – Vincent Wilson, a 2011 Austin Peay State University graduate, recently returned to his alma mater to serve as coordinator of APSU’s Highland Crest campus in Robertson County.
Wilson previously worked as an admissions advisor in the Student Affairs Office at Madisonville Community College in Kentucky.

Dunbar Cave State Park Programs for March 17th – 23rd, 2016
Clarksville, TN – Dunbar Cave State Natural Area has been a State Park since 1973. The cave and its surrounding 110 acres have considerable scenic, natural and historical significance. The entrance offered shelter to prehistoric Native Americans as far back as 10,000 years.
Dunbar Cave State Natural Area will present many nature programs during the year. There are programs for children and adults.
Some of the upcoming events include: Man’s Use of Dunbar Cave, Nature Walk at Port Royal, Spring Hike, Early Spring Wildflower Hike, Port Royal History Walk, and Moonlight Walk.
