Rivers and Spires rocked to the soulful sound of Mark Hood Friday night
Clarksville, TN – The weather was absolutely perfect Friday, April 15th for the Rivers and Spires Festival. It was warm, but not too warm with a slight wind, clear sky, perfect. Put that with plenty of food, great vendors, activities and some amazing entertainers and you had one heck of a good time going on in Downtown Clarksville.
Rivers and Spires truly has something for everyone, little, small, young and old alike. There were plenty of things to do like the laser tag area, face painting, the sports zone and the family fun zone.

APSU’s 22nd Annual Governors Bass Tournament to be held May 14th

Clarksville, TN – The 22nd annual APSU Governors Bass Tournament is less than two months away.
This year’s edition, which benefits APSU Athletics, is Saturday, May 14th, at Kentucky Lake, with registration and boat launching from Paris Landing State Park. Last season’s tourney drew more than 200 boats.
The tournament will benefit Austin Peay State University athletics. More than $12,000 dollars in prize money will be awarded.

Rivers and Spires Quilts of the Cumberland exhibit opens tonight
Clarksville, TN – On Thursday, April 14th, the Rivers and Spires Festival’s award winning Quilts of the Cumberland event will kick off at Madison Street United Methodist Church at 5:00pm. Quilts of all shapes and sizes will be on display.
The exhibit will take place all three days of the festival, April 14th-16th. The show will display local artisans with a variety of quilts from traditional to one of a kind art quilts.

APSU names seasoned senior executive Moses as interim dean of College of Business
Clarksville, TN – Dr. Charles T. Moses, an internationally renowned expert in business strategy and entrepreneurship, was given an interim appointment as dean of the Austin Peay State University College of Business. He will begin his new role at APSU on May 1st, 2016.
Moses previously served as an associate professor of management and interim dean of the School of Business Administration at Clark Atlanta University, where he helped create Centers of Excellence in Supply Chain and Financial Planning and a Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurial Development.

Great Weather expected for the Rivers and Spires Festival this weekend
Clarksville, TN – The National Weather Service (NWS) in Nashville reports partly cloudy skies with highs in the 70s for the Rivers and Spires Festival being held this weekend, April 14th-16th in Downtown Clarksville.
It will be beautiful weather for this three day festival with over 100 entertainers performing.
On Thursday, it will be partly sunny with a high of 70°F and the low expected to reach 48°F.

Rivers and Spires to hold Trunk show during Quilts of the Cumberland Thursday, April 15th
600 Quilts – and counting.
Clarksville, TN – On Thursday, April 15th, the Rivers and Spires Festival will be holding a Trunk show at the Madison Street United Methodist Church during the Quilts of the Cumberland event.
Who loves to cut up perfectly good fabric into many pieces, and then sew them together in a different order? Quilters do!
This will be demonstrated by Starr Howell, the guest host of Thursday night’s free program entitled “Our Quilts tell Stories”.
