Montgomery County Parks and Recreation earns state award for RichEllen Park
Montgomery County, TN – The Montgomery County Parks and Recreation Department was recently awarded the Four Star Award for Excellence in Parks and Recreation for RichEllen Park.
The award was presented during the annual Tennessee Recreation and Parks Association state conference, held earlier this week in Memphis, TN.

Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department earns three statewide awards
Mayor applauds Workplace Wellness Award
Clarksville, TN – Clarksville’s Parks and Recreation Department earned three statewide awards at the Tennessee Recreation and Parks Association’s 65th Annual Conference in Memphis, TN.
The Workplace Wellness Award was presented November 16th, 2016 to Jennifer Byard and the Department’s Health Initiative committee for their focus on physical activity and wellness to heighten employee productivity, motivation, and general well-being.

The City of Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department staff gathered outside their downtown headquarters to show off the three statewide awards they won this week.

“Planters Bank Presents…” Film Series
Clarksville, TN – The “Planters Bank Presents…” film series next movie will be “Raiders of the Lost Ark”. This movie will be shown this Sunday, November 20th, 2016 at the Roxy Regional Theatre at 2:00pm.
“Raiders of the Lost Ark” is about Dr. Indiana Jones, a renowned archeologist and expert in the occult, who is hired by the U.S. Government to find the Ark of the Covenant, which is believed to still hold the ten commandments. Unfortunately, agents of Hitler are also after the Ark.

Harry Connick, Jr.’s “The Happy Elf” Brings Christmas Cheer to the Roxy Regional Theatre, November 24th – December 17th

A new musical comedy by the Grammy Award-winning and Tony Award-nominated composer and lyricist, Harry Connick, Jr.’s “The Happy Elf” opens at the Roxy Regional Theatre on Thursday, November 24th, at 7:00pm.
Directed by Ryan Bowie and choreographed by Emily Rourke, “The Happy Elf” follows Eubie the Elf on his musical mission to bring Christmas cheer to Bluesville, a town on Santa’s naughty list. But can he turn a whole town of naughty children nice in just one day?

Austin Peay State University Opera Workshop to perform “Brush Up Your Shakespeare” on November 20th
Clarksville, TN – The Austin Peay State University Opera Workshop will explore the diverse works of one of history’s greatest playwrights, William Shakespeare, as it presents “Brush Up On Your Shakespeare” on Sunday, November 20th.
