Local Auditions for “Hair”, “Damn Yankees” and Roxy Regional Theatre’s Season 37 to be held on Saturday, April 13th
Roxy Regional Theatre
Clarksville, TN – Local auditions for the Roxy Regional Theatre’s summer productions of the ’60s musical “Hair” and the baseball musical comedy “Damn Yankees”, as well as the 2019-2020 season, will be held Saturday, April 13th, 2019 beginning at 1:00pm.
Auditions, which are for ages 18 and up, are by appointment only. Actors must be able to attend daytime rehearsals and performances.

Two Austin Peay State University professors picked for prestigious Carnegie fellowship

Clarksville, TN – Two Austin Peay State University (APSU) professors have been chosen for the prestigious Carnegie African Diaspora Fellowship Program.
They are among five from Tennessee and 51 from the United States and Canada who will travel to Africa this summer to help universities in Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, South Africa, Tanzania and Uganda.

APSU hosts more than 700 third-graders for ‘Ready to Gov’

Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University (APSU) welcomed more than 700 third-grade students from the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System (CMCSS) in an effort to introduce the children to higher education opportunities and their local college campus.

More than 700 Clarksville-Montgomery County School System third-graders visited Austin Peay State University recently on “Ready to Gov” Day to introduce the children to higher education and to their local university campus.

Manna Madness Celebration

Clarksville, TN – During the month of March, Manna Café Ministries has had Manna Madness, a month-long food drive blitz to help raise food donations to be given out through their food box distribution program.
Through the generosity of the public, Manna Café has raised 20,538 pounds of food and hygiene donations.

Montgomery County, TN – Montgomery County Animal Care and Control (MCACC) received a $2,000 Petfinder ‘Nestle Purina New Year, New Home Pet Adoption Grant’ from the Petfinder Foundation this week.
The Petfinder ‘Nestle Purina New Year, New Home Pet Adoption Grant’ program is used to help subsidize pet adoptions with free or fee-reduced fees at Petfinder organizations that are awarded this grant.

Seven ‘Green to Gold’ soldiers make up Austin Peay State University’s Ranger Challenge team

Clarksville, TN – The U.S. Military Academy at West Point recently featured Austin Peay’s ROTC Ranger Challenge team on its website ahead of the prestigious Sandhurst 2019, the world’s premier academy-level military skills competition.
In doing so, West Point officials noted Austin Peay’s team includes seven active-duty soldiers participating in the Army’s Green to Gold program.
