The Customs House Museum and Cultural CenterClarksville, TN – The Customs House Museum and Cultural Center is located in Historic Downtown Clarksville, Tennessee. Come explore an entire city block featuring large gallery spaces filled with fine art, science, and history.

Some of the events in March at the Museum include Waiting Room: A Print Series by Belgin Yucelen, Elena Burykina: Brushed Expressions, The Poetry Around Us: Women Painting the Outdoors, The Odyssey of Burt High School Book Event, Storytime & Craft, Recycled Robots, Watercolor for Kids.

Fort Defiance Interpretive Center to hold Surrender of Clarksville event on February 18th

Clarksville Parks and Recreation DepartmentClarksville, TN – Fort Defiance Interpretive Center will host a living history event on Saturday, February 18th, from 10:00am to 3:00pm to commemorate the surrender of Fort Defiance to Union soldiers in 1862.

The surrender of Clarksville was a significant event in Civil War history, opening the South to Union forces and the capture of Nashville. Uniformed soldiers will provide living history and cannon-firing demonstrations. Visitors are invited to tour the permanent exhibit and view the film, “Crossroads of Change.”

”The surrender event is one of the biggest and oldest annual events at Fort Defiance,” said Roxanne Jenkins, Associate Historical Interpreter At Fort Defiance. “There will be something for everyone to enjoy. The movie “Crossroads of Change” provides the unique perspective of an eye witness account to this time in the city’s history.

Clarksville Parks and Recreation to hold annual Spring Break Camp

Clarksville Parks and Recreation DepartmentClarksville, TN – The Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department will host its annual Spring Break Camp during the week of March 6th-10th. The camp is held at Burt Cobb, Kleeman, and Crow Recreation Centers. Participants may choose which location to attend.

The Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department Spring Break Camp is designed to offer school-age children an affordable opportunity to stay active, meet new friends, and enjoy a safe and friendly environment during the week of Spring Break. Campers will experience games, sports, arts and enrichment activities throughout the week. 

Corey Tramel, Recreation Superintendent for Clarksville Parks and Recreation, said the camp is hosted with children and parents in mind.

“We know Spring Break can be a stressful time for working parents with younger children,” said Tramel. “By offering this affordable camp our mission is to keep our youth busy and give parents peace of mind.”
