Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Parks and Recreation is excited to host another float event for canoe and kayak enthusiasts at 8:00am Saturday, August 18th, 2018. Participants will float approximately two miles on the Cumberland River from Liberty Park to Trice Landing Park.

APSU Veterans Upward Bound offering college help (and free pizza) to prospective military students

Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University’s Veterans Upward Bound is throwing several free pizza parties this month in an effort to show as many military veterans as possible the program’s benefits.
The first open house is 11:00am-2:00pm August 2nd, 2018 at Room 203 of the McReynolds Building.

What is Nerdlesque? It is a fusion of traditional burlesque performance with geek/nerd fandom, IE comic books, sci-fi movies, and fantasy!
On September 29th, 2018 Bombshell Kittens Burlesque will present their Dr. Who Steampunk Cabaret at the Clarksville Dr. Who and Steampunk Convention at the Riverview Inn in Clarksville Tennessee.

APSU/CMCSS form historic partnership to offer Japanese and Korean languages

Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University and the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System launched a major partnership today (August 2nd) to become the state’s first public education institutions to offer both Japanese and Korean language courses to students.
The new classes, funded by grants from The Japan Foundation and the ALLEX Foundation, were developed to better serve the Japanese- and Korean-owned businesses investing in this region.

APSU Center of Excellence for Creative Arts to host “An Elegant Obsession” on September 7th

Clarksville, TN – History and fantasy will collide into an evening of pure entertainment during the premiere performance of the musical drama, “An Elegant Obsession,” at 7:30pm on Friday, September 7th, 2018 in the Mabry Concert Hall.
This event will be hosted by the Austin Peay State University Center of Excellence for the Creative Arts (CECA), and guests with reserved seating may attend a formal reception from 5:00pm-7:00pm at 416 College Street on the night of the premiere.
