Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University (APSU) recently partnered with the City of Clarksville to offer currently enrolled APSU students free annual bike-share memberships with Clarksville BCycle.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new campus BCycle station took place on Thursday, August 30th, 2018 outside the APSU Foy Fitness and Recreation Center.

Clarksville, TN – A sock recently went missing inside Archwood, the historic house where Austin Peay State University’s president lives.
The missing garment belonged to Elliott Herzlich, husband of APSU President Alisa White, and the couple decided not to call campus police because they immediately identified a suspect – Yahtzee, the first dog of Austin Peay.
Award-Winning Group of Women Artists Exhibit at the Customs House Museum

Clarksville, TN – The Customs House Museum and Cultural Center continues with its annual “Women Painting Women” exhibitions. The show opens September 6th, 2018 in the museum’s Kimbrough Gallery.
The seven artists from across the U.S. represented in the exhibition include Linda Brandon, Elena Burykina, Alia El-Bermani, Gaela Erwin, Ann Piper, Tonja Sell, and Pamela Wilson.

The New Gallery opens season with exhibit by APSU professor

Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University’s The New Gallery, with support from the APSU Center of Excellence for the Creative Arts and the APSU Department of Art + Design, recently opened its 2018-19 exhibition season with “McLean Fahnestock: Undiscovered Country.”
Fahnestock is a media artist who works across modes of communication, from video and photographic images to sound, text and display.
City of Clarksville to open BCycle station at APSU

Clarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville and Austin Peay State University are partnering to open a Clarksville BCycle station on campus and offer currently enrolled APSU students free annual bike-share memberships.
Thanks to an award-winning “Great Green Idea” by former SGA President Frank Burns, the support of the Student Government Association and the Sustainable Campus Fee Committee, a new station with 10 BCycles has been installed at the Foy Recreation Center.
APSU freshman finds home in mom’s old dorm room

Clarksville, TN – Last Thursday, when Janine Wine (’92) stepped into her daughter’s dorm room inside Austin Peay State University’s Sevier Hall, she experienced a bit of déjà vu.
“Twenty-eight yeas ago, I was a freshman here at Austin Peay, and this was the dorm that I had,” she said.

Montgomery County, TN – The Griffis Team of Exit Realty Screamin’ Eagle is the latest organization to join the Clarksville-Montgomery County Green Certification Program (CMCGCP).
A green ribbon cutting was held in their honor on the morning of Tuesday, August 21st, 2018. City of Clarksville Chief of Staff Heather Fleming, CMCGCP Steering Committee member Rose Melton (Altra Federal Credit Union), CMCGCP Steering Committee member Bill Harpel (City of Clarksville), and CMCGCP Manager Carlye Sommers attended the ceremony.
