Austin Peay State University 2017: A Year in Review
Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University, which turned 90 in April, experienced another big year, with new buildings and programs transforming the campus over the last 12 months.
Women’s volleyball and men’s football electrified the community this fall, and in August, thousands of people cheered as the afternoon sky went dark for nearly two minutes. As this 90th year comes to an end, here are some of the major stories that came out of Austin Peay in 2017.

Clarksville Weekly Market Snapshot from Frazier Allen for the week of December 17th, 2017
Clarksville, TN – As expected, the Fed raised short-term interest rates for the third time in 2017 (market participants were more focused on the progress of tax legislation).
The dots in the dot plot did not shift much from where they were in September and were all over the place for the end of 2018 and 2019 – meaning that there is no clear consensus on the pace of policy action (and bear in mind that personnel changes mean that many of these dots will be replaced in 2018).

But Carter’s story is not defined by an instrument — or a funny nickname, for that matter. While music was his first love, the Memphis native came to Austin Peay in pursuit of a different dream — earning a bachelor’s degree in computer science.
