The All State earns eight national awards at Dallas conference
Clarksville, TN – The All State, Austin Peay State University’s student newspaper, earned eight national awards at the 2017 Fall National College Media Convention in Dallas, Texas, on Saturday, October 28th, 2017.
The conference was presented by the Associated Collegiate Press and the College Media Association.

Get outside and join us on Veterans’ Day for a 2 mile hike on our Recovery Trail. Wear good walking shoes and weather appropriate clothing.

Grand opening for Larry W. Carroll Trading Center at APSU set for November 14th
Clarksville, TN – The Austin Peay State University College of Business will take a major step forward this month when it officially opens the new Larry W. Carroll Financial Trading Center.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new space will take place at 10:00am on Tuesday, November 14th, 2017 on the first floor of the APSU Kimbrough Building. The event is free and open to the public.
Clarksville-Montgomery County Public Library’s Science Fiction & Fantasy Expo grows bigger each year
Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville-Montgomery County Public Library is busy every day, but Saturday’s Science Fiction & Fantasy Expo event brought hundreds of fans out for an afternoon of costumes, science experiments, and more.

APSU Department of Art + Design welcomes Photo Duo Hillerband+Magsamen
Clarksville, TN – The Austin Peay State University Department of Art + Design, along with the Center of Excellence for the Creative Arts (CECA), will host Hillerbrand+Magsamen an artist lecture at 6:00pm on November 9th, 2017 in Heydel Hall (Art+Design building, Room 120).
Hillerbrand+Magsamen are interdisciplinary artists who create sculpture, installation, performance, video and photographic works to explore their relationships to each other and society.

APSU’s Center for Service-Learning & Community Engagement, campus community partner to aid national hurricane relief efforts
Clarksville, TN – When Hurricane Maria — a Category 4 hurricane with winds up to 150 mph — ripped through the island of Puerto Rico on September 20th, 2017, the fury of Mother Nature appeared relentless, but Puerto Rico native and Austin Peay State University senior psychology major Maydaliz Bultron knew better than most that the damage left in the storm’s wake would be the true challenge for the island and its people.
“I grew up in Puerto Rico and I lived through Hurricane George (in 1998), so I understand what life is like in the wake of a storm,” Bultron said. “I remember things like not having running water and having to get ready for school in the dark with candles because the electricity had been knocked out during the storm.”
