Clarkville’s Amazing Race to Benefit the LEAP Organization
Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville Association of Realtors® will host Clarksville’s Amazing Race, benefitting the LEAP Organization, on July 8th, 2017.
Clarksville’s Amazing Race involves teams of two racing against other teams in a citywide scavenger hunt as they perform tasks, solve puzzles, answer trivia questions and complete surprise challenges.
Austin Peay State University to become a Coca-Cola campus this July
Clarksville, TN – For the last 15 years, the Pepsi Bottling Group has had an exclusive contract with Austin Peay State University, but that will change this summer.
The University recently formed a new, exclusive agreement with the Coca-Cola Company, which will take effect on July 1st, 2017.
City of Clarksville and Montgomery County to hold Rain Barrel Workshop on June 17th
Residents can build, learn to use natural irrigation system
Clarksville, TN – Using a rain barrel to harvest rainwater for irrigation of household plants and backyard gardens can improve the environment and help homeowners save money.
The City of Clarksville and Montgomery County will sponsor a Rain Barrel Workshop to assist local residents in building a rain barrel and learning how to use it.

Rain Barrel Workshop to be held June 17th at the Clarksville Gas and Water Department, 2215 Madison Street.

Clarksville, TN – The “Planters Bank Presents…” film series next movie is Disney’s “The Little Mermaid”. This movie will be shown this Sunday, June 11th, 2017 at the Roxy Regional Theatre at 2:00pm.
“The Little Mermaid” is about a rebellious 16-year-old mermaid Ariel, striking a deal with the sea witch Ursula to become human in order to land the man of her dreams, even though her father, King Triton, has forbidden her to swim to the surface.

Clarksville Montgomery County School System names Marcus Heaston as new Kenwood High School principal
Montgomery County, TN – The Clarksville Montgomery County School System announces that Marcus D. Heaston has been named principal of Kenwood High School for the upcoming school year. He replaces Hal Bedell, who retires this month.
Mr. Heaston has served as High School Level Director for the last two years.
Registration under way for Clarksville’s Wonder Kids Triathlon
Clarksville, TN – The fifth annual Wonder Kids Triathlon, hosted by the Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department for boys and girls ages 3-12, will be Saturday, August 5th, 2017 at New Providence Pool, 168 Cunningham Lane.
Wonder Kids Triathlon athletes will participate in the three segments of a traditional triathlon: swimming, biking and running.
Domino’s on Hwy 48 donates over $8,000 to Cunningham Volunteer Fire Department

Clarksville, TN – The May Employment Report was generally disappointing. Nonfarm payrolls rose by 138,000 (median forecast: +185,000), while figures for March and April were revised a net 66,000 lower.
Retail payrolls fell for the fourth consecutive month (down more than 80,000 since January, which is more than the total number of coal miners). The unemployment rate dipped to 4.3%, a 16-year low, partly reflecting a sharp drop in the rate for young adults (which could reflect a seasonal adjustment issue, although the trend is clearly lower).
Customs House Museum Celebrates Flag Day with Free Event
Clarksville, TN – The Customs House Museum & Cultural Center will celebrate Flag Day with a special presentation on Wednesday, June 14th, 2017.
Dr. Dewey A. Browder, Professor Emeritus of History at APSU and a reared U.S. Army Lieutenant Colonel, will present a program featuring a contemporary view of patriotism in America. Following Dr. Browder’s talk there will be a special flag-raising ceremony by the local Marine Corps League.
Movies in the Park continues June 10 with free showing of ‘Moana’
Clarksville, TN – Movies in the Park, the City of Clarksville’s free, outdoor movie series continues on Saturday, June 10th, 2017 with the showing of Disney’s “Moana” at Heritage Park, 1241 Peachers Mill Road.
Pre-show activities, coordinated by the Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department, will begin at 6:30pm.
