Clarksville, TN – The “Planters Bank Presents…” film series next movie is Disney and Pixar’s “Finding Nemo”. This movie will be shown this Sunday, April 23rd, 2017 at the Roxy Regional Theatre at 2:00pm.
“Finding Nemo” is about a timid clownfish setting out on a journey to bring his son home after he is captured in the Great Barrier Reef and taken to Sydney. A story about family, courage and challenges, Disney and Pixar’s animated adventure captured the Academy Award for “Best Animated Feature Film.”
Powerful Performances kick off Clarksville’s Rivers and Spires
Clarksville, TN – Clarksville’s 15th Rivers and Spires Festival began Thursday, April 21st not at a walk or a sprint, but like a race car roaring around the track. The performances on the Public Square Stage were a soulful adrenaline filled ride much like getting on the 50 mph triple looping Mind Bender roller coaster at Six Flags Over Georgia.
The festival start at 5:00pm and the party went on well past 10:00pm. The weather was warm with a slight breeze and best of all, the rain stayed away.
City of Clarksville to dedicate Frank Sutton statue Saturday
Clarksville, TN – A statue of actor Frank “Sergeant Carter” Sutton, who was born and raised in Clarksville, will be dedicated at 1:30pm Saturday on Franklin Street in Downtown Clarksville.
Mark Holleman, civic leader and broker/owner of Coldwell Banker Conroy, Marable & Holleman working with the City of Clarksville, led the drive to place the statue — created by local sculptor Scott Wise — near the Roxy Theatre in Sutton’s hometown.
Rivers and Spires Festival begins this afternoon
Clarksville, TN – The 15th annual Rivers and Spires Festival kicks off tonight, Thursday, April 20th, in Downtown Clarksville Tennessee from 5:00pm until 10:00pm. Chase & Ovation will headline the Public Square Stage tonight performing the music of Prince.
Rivers and Spires is an event for the whole family featuring children’s activities, arts vendors, a car show, military exhibits, shopping and so much more. Those that attend will have five stages of live entertainment with over 100 performers to enjoy during the three day event.

Clarksville’s Rivers and Spires Quilts of the Cumberland exhibit starts tonight
Clarksville, TN – Rivers and Spires Festival’s award winning Quilts of the Cumberland event begins Thursday, April 20th at the Madison Street United Methodist Church at 5:00pm. There will be quilts of different shapes and sizes on display to the public.
The quilts will be on display all three days of Rivers and Spires, April 20th through the April 22nd. This exhibit gives people the chance to view a variety of quilts from traditional to one of a kind art quilts by local artisans.

Clarksville, TN – On April 10th, 2017, Girl Scout Troop 2604 donated 70 boxes of Girl Scout Cookies to the Austin Peay State University Save Our Students (SOS) Campus Food Pantry.
Hilltop Super Market delivers biggest Easter Egg Hunt to date
Clarksville, TN – Hilltop Super Market held their 22nd annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 15th, 2017. The weather was nice and warm with a cool breeze that kept it from being hot. The event kicked off at 11:00am and the Easter Egg hunt began at 2:00pm.
There were several different activities for everyone to enjoy. There were inflatable bounce houses provided by U Jumpin’ Foulks, face painting done by Montgomery Central High School Cheerleaders, cupcake decorating, a duck pond, and other games.
2017 Be More Like Wade Scholarship Winners announced
Cunningham, TN – The winners of the 2017 Be More Like Wade Scholarship have been selected. Eight $1000.00 scholarships are being given out this year.
The scholarships go to Montgomery Central High School Seniors who demonstrate similar characteristics of #bemorelikewade.
He exemplified the true meaning of a genuine person by being a selfless individual and always having an optimistic outlook on life.
Yellow Creek Baptist Church’s Community Easter Egg Hunt a fun time for all
Cumberland City, TN – The weather was just perfect Saturday, April 15th, 2017 for the Yellow Creek Baptist Church annual Community Easter Egg Hunt. 326 kids along with over 600 adults came out for the event.
“It a beautiful day and I am very thankful for everybody coming out,” said Brother Phillip Chambers, Senior Pastor. “It was a fun time doing this for everyone.”
The egg hunt was divided into three parts, Pre-K, K-2nd grade and 3rd-5th grade. 11,000 eggs were scattered between the three fields.
