Clarksville, TN – An educational seminar focusing on small business cyber security will be held on Wednesday, November 16th at 5:30pm to 7:00pm at Old Glory Distillery Company located at 451 Alfred Thun Road, Clarksville, TN 37040.
The Small Business Connect Mixer is a no-cost, no-obligation event hosted by Altra Federal Credit Union. The event is open to small business owners and Altra membership is not required.
Cumberland Arts Centre Dinner Theatre to hold Open Auditions for Christmas Play
Clarksville, TN – The Cumberland Arts Centre Dinner Theatre will hold open auditions for their upcoming production of “Sorry! Wrong Chimney!” on Monday November 7th and Tuesday November 8th at 7:00pm.
Needed are 4 males and 3 females to play varying ages. Actors will be asked to read from the script. No headshots or resumes are needed. Production dates are scheduled for December 9th, 10th, 16th and 17th. Rehearsals will be from 7:00pm to 9:00pm Monday thru Friday.

APSU hosting Military Appreciation Day during November 5th football game
Clarksville, TN – This Saturday, November 5th, 2016, the Austin Peay State University athletics department will honor local veterans and military-affiliated individuals with a special Military Appreciation Day during APSU’s 4:00pm football game at Fortera Stadium.
All veterans, active-duty personnel and their families will receive free admission to the game with a current military I.D., and several military vehicles will be on display in tailgate alley and inside the stadium.

Montgomery County, TN – Two Principal appointments has been announced by the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System (CMCSS).
Jessica Harris, who has served as principal at Hazelwood Elementary School for three years, has been appointed to the Byrns Darden principalship, replacing Andy Lyons who has accepted another position overseas.

Waged between February 11th-16th, 1862, the Union’s capture of the Confederate fort near the Tennessee-Kentucky border accomplished a number of important tasks for its army.

Bus system aims to honor veterans, help voters reach polls
Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Transit System will offer free bus rides to all passengers on Election Day, November 8th, and again on Veterans Day, November 11th.
Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan and Art Bing, Clarksville Transportation Director, announced on Thursday the plan for the free rides as a way to focus attention on voting and to honor military veterans.

“The Wizard of Oz” is about Dorothy and her dog, Toto, as they are whisked away in their house to the magical land of Oz. They follow the Yellow Brick Road toward the Emerald City to meet the Wizard, and en route they meet a Scarecrow that needs a brain, a Tin Man missing a heart, and a Cowardly Lion who wants courage..

Montgomery County announces Billy Ray Cyrus to Ride in Veterans Day Parade
Montgomery County, TN – Montgomery County Government is pleased to announce that country singer Billy Ray Cyrus will be riding in the Veterans Day Parade on Saturday, November 5th, as a guest of Appleton’s Harley Davidson.
Cyrus, along with a special guest of his, will be riding with a group of motorcyclists in the parade to support Operation Home Front.

Clarksville, TN – Real GDP rose at a 2.9% annual rate in the advance estimate of third quarter growth, a bit on the high side of expectations. However, the economy was not as strong as the headline figure suggests (similarly, growth over the four previous quarters was not as weak as the GDP number implies).
Inventories, which had been slowing over the five previous quarters (subtracting from GDP growth), rose at a faster pace (adding 0.6 percentage point to overall growth). Net exports (a narrower trade deficit) added 0.8 percentage point.
