Clarksville, TN – Weekend badges for Clarksville’s first ME2 Convention (ME2Con) are on sale now. ME2 Con is a Multiverse Entertainment Expo at the Riverview Inn in Clarksville, Tennessee on November 4th-6th, 2016.
ME2 is Clarksville’s newest geek culture fan convention. The multi-day event centers around cosplay, entertainment, technology, artists and makers that has something for everyone. APSU students join area historians in exploring Fort Defiance
Clarksville, TN – Located on a bluff some 200 feet above the meeting point of the Red River and the Cumberland River, Fort Defiance served a significant role in Clarksville’s participation in the Civil War.
Viewed by Confederates as an ideal site to defend the river approach to Clarksville, the fort eventually was captured by Union forces, who occupied the site for the remainder of the war.

APSU’s Phi Alpha Theta wins eighth Best Chapter Award
Clarksville, TN – While much of America focused on each word said during the recent first presidential debate, something else was gnawing at the back of the mind of Austin Peay State University professor of history, Dr. Minoa Uffelman.
For the last seven years, the University’s Phi Alpha Theta National Honor Society (PAT), which Uffelman advises, has been recognized each fall with the national Best Chapter Award, but September was drawing to a close without word on a possible eighth consecutive award.

Customs House Museum Presents the 6th Annual Laying Low
Clarksville, TN – Laying Low is back for its sixth installment to benefit the Customs House Museum and Cultural Center on Saturday, October 8th. This laid-back annual fundraiser begins at 5:00pm with festivities lasting into the evening.
This fun fall evening features beer, games, and live music in a festival atmosphere. This year’s event takes place at Daffodil Hill, 2100 Madison Street.

Clarksville, TN – The economic data were mixed. Consumer confidence rose in September. Durable goods orders were mixed. The estimate of 3Q16 GDP growth was revised higher (to a 1.4% annual rate, held back by a sharp slowing in inventory growth).
Personal income rose modestly in August, as expected, but spending was softer than anticipated, suggesting a possible loss of momentum following a strong spring and early summer (economists’ estimate of GDP growth were revised down for both 3Q16 and 4Q16).
Author Carolyn Stier Ferrell to sign books at Clarksville’s Fort Defiance Interpretive Center
Clarksville, TN – The Fort Defiance Interpretive Center, 120 Duncan Street, will host a book signing event from 1:00pm to 4:00pm on Sunday, October 2nd, 2016.
Author Carolyn Stier Ferrell will be available to sign copies of her seventh book, “Valentine Sevier: Blood on the Bluff,” along with her other six books. At 2:00pm, she will give a presentation on the Sevier family massacre.

Clarksville, TN – On Sunday, October 16th, 2016 between the hours of 1:00pm and 4:30pm, the Humane Society of Clarksville-Montgomery County will hold Clarksville’s 4th Annual Pit Bull Awareness Day in the parking lot of The Pet Food Center located at 2243 Lowes Drive, Clarksville, TN.
This event is held to bring awareness about the misconception of Bully Breeds.
