Austin Peay State University - APSUClarksville, TN – David Steinquest, Austin Peay State University professor of music, sat rubbing his gray beard, looking a little tired. For thirty-two years, he’s hosted the APSU Department of Music’s wildly popular Halloween Percussion Concert, and each fall, he tries to top the previous year’s performance.

“This is the biggest one ever,” he said, slumping in his chair. “I might have to just quit now.”

APSU Career Services welcomes Amazon to Campus

Austin Peay State University - APSUClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University’s Office of Career Services welcomed Amazon to campus in September 2016. The University was among the first 12 schools from across the country selected to participate in Amazon’s new Warrior Ambassador Program.

Through this program, the company’s Warrior Ambassadors (military veterans that work at Amazon) will visit the veteran centers and career centers at universities located near Amazon fulfillment centers across the nation.

Friends of the Library Book Sale kicks off Thursday, October 27th

Clarksville-Montgomery County Public LibraryClarksville, TN – The annual Friends of the Library fall book sale will open Thursday, October 27th from 4:00pm to 7:00pm. Opening night will be a Friends-only preview. Anyone may join the Friends of the Library at the door for $5.00.

The sale will open for the general public on Friday, October 28th from 9:00am to 5:00pm and will continue Saturday, October 29th from 9:00am to 3:00pm.

Family-Owned Alabama Company Buys Cougar Packaging

Clarksville-Montgomery County Industrial Development BoardClarksville, TN – Rusken Packaging, Inc. announces the purchase of Clarksville-owned Cougar Packaging. All employees will continue with the new company, and former Cougar owners Gerri and Larry Wallace will continue in their roles for six months to ensure a smooth transition.

Rusken Packaging, a private, family-owned, $130 million company, manufactures corrugated cardboard boxes used for shipping.

Great concert, great costumes, and a great cause are a winning combination for your Tuesday evening entertainment!

Montgomery Central High School - MCHS - IndiansCunningham, TN – On Tuesday, October 25th, 2016 the Montgomery Central High School Percussion Ensemble is presenting a family-friendly trunk-or-treat and fall concert. Admission to the event is two canned food items, which will be donated to the Manna Café.

The event will take place at Montgomery Central High School in the theater. Kids of all ages are encouraged to dress up in school appropriate costumes.

APSU’s Marcus Hayes named to Tennessee Board of Regents’ Maxine Smith Fellows program

Austin Peay State University - APSUClarksville, TN – Earlier this year, Marcus Hayes, Austin Peay State University associate professor of dance, was awarded a prestigious Maxine Smith Fellowship by the Tennessee Board of Regents (TBR).

The TBR established the highly selective Smith Fellows program in 2002 to provide advanced administrative training and career development opportunities to African American employees.
