Customs House Museum and Cultural Center Presents its Fourth Women Painting Women Exhibition
Clarksville, TN – Nine female artists from four states have taken over the Crouch Gallery of the Customs House Museum & Cultural Center starting August 5th.
While the museum has featured women artists in its annual Women’s History Month exhibitions each March, this is the only annual show with a specific group subject matter: the female form.
Jammin in the Alley finishes the season Friday night with Life in Technicolor and Nightmasters
Clarksville, TN – On Friday, August 12th, 2016 the last Jammin in the Alley for this year will be held in Downtown Clarksville.
The musical entertainment will kick off at 6:00pm with Life in Technicolor. At 7:00pm, Nightmasters will take the stage and finish off the night.

This boat race is not like any ordinary boat race. Participants will compete in their boats made of cardboard, plastic bottles, or a few other approved materials. There will be several divisions all racing down the 100-yard long course on the Cumberland River. Clarksville Association of Realtors 3rd Annual Handbags For Hope
Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville Association of Realtors (CAR) will host the third annual Handbags For Hope at Old Glory Distilling Company on Saturday, August 20th.
Proceeds from the event will benefit Urban Ministry’s SafeHouse for Women and the CAR Young Professionals Network Mike Groves Memorial Fund.

Clarksville, TN – As expected, the Federal Open Market Committee left short-term interest rates unchanged. In its policy statement, the FOMC noted that “on balance, payrolls and other labor market indicators point to some increase in labor utilization in recent months.”
More importantly, “near-term risks to the economic outlook have diminished.” Kansas City Fed President Esther George dissented in favor of raising the federal funds target range by 25 basis points (to 0.50% to 0.75%).

2nd annual Be More Like Wade Scholarship 5k Run/Walk/Crawl exceeds expectations
Cunningham, TN – Last Saturday, July 30th, 2016 the 2nd annual “Be More Like Wade Scholarship 5K Run/Walk/Crawl” was held at the Montgomery Central Schools in honor of Wade Morgan. The race began at 8:30am.
All proceeds go into a scholarship fund which will be given to a Montgomery Central Senior who demonstrates similar characteristics of #bemorelikewade. He exemplified the true meaning of a genuine person by being a selfless individual and always having an optimistic outlook on life.
