Annual Women’s History Month Exhibition at Customs House Museum

Clarksville's Customs House Museum and Cultural CenterClarksville, TN – Each year the Customs House Museum and Cultural Center features the art of women in celebration of Women’s History Month. This year, Tennessee women artisans are showcased in the newly renovated Kimbrough Gallery. The exhibit, titled A Woman’s Touch, includes sculpture, jewelry, clothing, furniture, printmaking, and ceramics.

Participating in the exhibit are artists Kim Winkle, Anne Rob, Claudia Lee, Susan DeMay, Jeanie Stephenson, Jennifer Knowles, Virginia Fisher, Jennifer Crescuillo, Vicki Vipperman, Brenda Stein, and Melina Ludwig.

Austin Peay State University - APSUClarksville, TN – As a child growing up in Arkansas, Darren Michael often heard stories about the town of Smackover. Thanks to the oil boom of the 1920s and 1930s, thousands flocked to the southern town in search of fortune.

Predictably, however, when the oil wells ran dry, those residents left as quickly as they came – and the city atrophied.

The Customs House Museum and Cultural CenterClarksville, TN – The Customs House Museum and Cultural Center is located in historic downtown Clarksville, Tennessee. Come explore an entire city block featuring large gallery spaces filled with fine art, science and history.

Some of the events in November at the Museum are: A Woman’s Touch: Celebrating Tennessee Crafts, James Alexander: Sculptural Thinkings, Elizabeth LaPenna: Expressions in Color, A Time of Mourning, Cast of Blues, Hook Rug Demonstration, and Women Writers Hour.
