Clarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville and the presidents of the Sunrise Rotary Club, the Noon Rotary Club and the Sunset Rotary Club signed a Memorandum of Understanding for the construction of a new splash pad and playground areas in Heritage Park.

Brad Barrett Named F&M Bank Director
Clarksville, TN – Brad Barrett, former president of The Tennessee Bankers Association (TBA), has been named to the F&M Bank Board of Directors, according to Sammy Stuard, president and CEO.
“Brad brings a wealth of banking knowledge to F&M and his over 20 years of leadership at the helm of the TBA will contribute greatly as we seek new opportunities for growth across Middle Tennessee,” commented Stuard.
Following F&M’s recent sale to Nashville-area businessman Gaylon Lawrence Jr., Barrett joins the bank at an exciting time. Lawrence’s ownership of Middle Tennessee’s eighth largest bank will increase the bank’s capital and further position F&M for continued growth.
Altra Federal Credit Union Half-Court Shot for APSU Tuition on January 23rd, 2016
Clarksville, TN – Altra Federal Credit Union will offer one Austin Peay State University student the opportunity to win one year’s tuition up to $15,000 at half-time of the APSU men’s basketball game on Saturday, January 23rd at the Winfield Dunn Center.
APSU students may enter the contest January 1st through January 23rd at either of Altra’s two locations in Clarksville located at 1600 Madison Street or 2625 Wilma Rudolph Boulevard.
City Seeks Public Input on Safe Routes to School
Clarksville, TN – A citizen’s input workshop to discuss a potential grant application and project will be held at Kenwood Elementary School, located 1101 Peachers Mill Road, on the evening of January 5th, 2016 beginning at 6:00pm.
The City of Clarksville is teaming up with the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System to seek federal/state funding to assist with providing students at the Kenwood School Complex better and safer routes by adding a series of wide sidewalks through Heritage Park and along East Pine Mountain Road.
Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department to hold Public Meeting on City Pool
Clarksville, TN – Bel-Aire Pool is one of five public city pools in Clarksville. It was recently closed due to maintenance issues. Mark Tummons, Clarksville Parks and Recreation Director, says resident input will aid in the development of future plans for the pool.
“From this process, we hope to generate involvement from conception to completion,” Tummons says. “By interacting with citizens in real-time and having two-way communication we hope to create a high level of citizen engagement.”

Montgomery Central Elementary School performs “The Reindeer Whisperer” for the holidays
Cunningham, TN – The Montgomery Central Elementary School’s 5th Grade and Central Sound held their annual Christmas Program on Thursday, December 17th, 2015. This year they performed the musical “The Reindeer Whisperer”.
It begins the day before Christmas Eve. Santa Claus is ready for his annual test drive before the big day with his reindeer. However, he finds the reindeer can’t fly, or maybe they won’t fly. Santa and the elves know something is wrong, but they can’t figure it out.
Clarksville Academy Choir and Cougar Choir sang Christmas Carols at Downtown for the Holidays
Clarksville, TN – Clarksville-Montgomery County held their annual Downtown for the Holidays on Saturday, December 5th, 2015. The event started at 4:00pm.
The festivities included local school groups Christmas caroling on the Montgomery County Court House steps. There was hot chocolate available inside the Montgomery County Courts Complex.
