APSU alumnus Carroll provides lead gift for new trading room on campus

Austin Peay State University - APSU - logoClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University is about 900 miles from New York City’s financial district, but a new trading room in the University’s Kimbrough Building will soon allow APSU business students to mimic the work of Wall Street’s top financiers.

The proposed trading room will have 16 computer stations and a Bloomberg terminal, providing APSU business students with the same tools used by financial professionals around the world.

Dunbar Cave State Park Programs for November 5th through November 7th, 2015

Dunbar Cave State Park - Clarksville TNClarksville, TNDunbar Cave State Natural Area has been a State Park since 1973. The cave and its surrounding 110 acres have considerable scenic, natural and historical significance. The entrance offered shelter to prehistoric Native Americans as far back as 10,000 years.

Dunbar Cave State Natural Area will present many nature programs during the year. There are programs for children and adults.

Some of the upcoming events include: Woods Walk, Sunset Hike, Volunteer Opportunity and Kids Discover Bats.

Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department Set to Unveil Public Art, Ribbon Cutting November 4th

Clarksville Parks and Recreation DepartmentClarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville’s Parks and Recreation Department invites the public to a Ribbon Cutting for the first public art piece, Forged in Fire, installed in downtown Clarksville. The Ribbon Cutting Ceremony will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, November 4th, 2015 along the Upland Trail on South Spring Street.

APSU College of Business adds new degree programs

Austin Peay State University - APSU - logoClarksville, TN – Earlier this fall, the Austin Peay State University College of Business took a major step toward earning professional accreditation through the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) when it began modifying its existing academic programs.

For years, APSU business students had only one degree option—a Bachelor of Business Administration—with seven different concentrations in accounting, finance, economics, management, international management, general business and marketing.

The FOMC removed the phrase about downside risks from the global economy, but said that it would monitor global economic and financial developments.
