Lowe’s to teach building skills to local volunteers for Habitat for Humanity’s 2016 Women Build
Clarksville, TN – Habitat for Humanity of Montgomery County Tennessee (HFHMCTN) and longtime national partner Lowe’s are hosting “how to” construction clinics for women volunteering during our Women Build 2016 project.
Taking place each year, the national Habitat for Humanity Women Build program encourages women across the country to devote at least one day to building simple, decent and affordable housing with Habitat in their local communities.

Clarksville, TN – Five years after the Deepwater Horizon oil spill, which flooded nearly five million barrels of oil into the Gulf of Mexico in 2010, scientists are still struggling to unravel the mysteries of a natural habitat deeply impacted by the largest oil spill in U.S. waters.
National Geographic recently published the first part of a five-part series marking the incident’s fifth anniversary. In the first installment, titled “Is Gulf Oil Spill’s Damage Over or Still Unfolding?,” the magazine probed the minds of scientists and researchers devoting their time to discovering the way millions of gallons of oil has changed, or will continue to change, the Gulf of Mexico and the creatures that call that landscape home.
Second Annual Daddy Daughter Date Night Sails into Clarksville

Clarksville, TN – Everybody wants to be a cat! Twenty-eight students from the Roxy Regional School of the Arts are getting the chance to do just that in Disney’s “The Aristocats Kids” at the Roxy Regional Theatre, May 29th – June 13th.
In this feline adventure based on the Disney animated film, Madame’s jealous butler Edgar cat-naps Duchess and her Aristokittens and abandons them in the Parisian countryside. Luckily, Thomas O’Malley and his rag-tag bunch of alley cats come to their rescue!
Clarksville’s Roxy Regional Theatre to present “bash: latterday” in theotherspace, May 26th-June 2nd
Clarksville, TN – In response to last September’s vicious attack of a gay Philadelphia couple, Roxy Regional Theatre executive director Tom Thayer felt compelled to produce Neil LaBute’s bash: latterday plays.
A trio of darkly brilliant, unblinking portraits of evil in everyday life, this collection of one-act plays will be presented in theotherspace for three more performances only, May 26th – June 2nd.
Clarksville-Montgomery County Memorial Day Service honors those who died serving our Country
Clarksville, TN – On Monday, May 25th, the Montgomery County Veterans Service Organization held its annual Memorial Day Ceremony. Due to rain, the ceremony was held in the William O. Beach Civic Hall, Veterans Plaza in Clarksville Tennessee.
The ceremony was opened by Frank Mir, the Director of the Montgomery County Veterans Service Organization. Mir welcomed the dignitaries and attendees to the Memorial ceremony. The colors were posted by the 101st Airborne Division Honor Guard, and Stella McKnight sang the National Anthem.
Daymar College to hold Annual Spring Career Fair, June 5th

Vietnam Veterans of America held their annual Memorial Day Candlelight Vigil Sunday night, May 24th
Clarksville, TN – On Sunday, May 25th, the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 396 held their annual Candlelight Vigil to remember the men and women who were left behind in Vietnam when American forces withdrew in 1975.
It is a solemn occasion when a nation gathers together to honor its soldiers, those who lived to come home, but even more importantly those who did not.
