Legendary Ronnie Milsap, Sanctus Real make up part of Clarksville’s Rivers and Spires Free Concert Weekend
Clarksville, TN – The Rivers And Spires Festival, brought to you by Coors Light and Agero, is pleased to announce Grammy award-winning and multi-platinum selling country music superstar, Ronnie Milsap, will take the Public Square Stage on Friday, April 17th. The concert is free and open to the public.
One of the biggest and most sought-after country music artists of the 70s and 80s, Milsap will perform some of his biggest hits that have made him a legend. Songs such as “Smoky Mountain Rain”, “(There’s) No Gettin’ Over Me”, “I Wouldn’t Have Missed It for the World”, “Any Day Now” and “Stranger in My House” will make up a concert you don’t want to miss.

Five AAU National Basketball Championships in Four Years Means Millions of Dollars For Clarksville – Montgomery County Community
Clarksville, TN – Over the next four years, Clarksville-Montgomery County will host five high economic impact AAU Basketball Championships bringing in a total of $8.9 million of revenue. The 2015 event will be held this upcoming July 10th-15th.
The community will welcome the 2015-2018 Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) 10U Boy’s Basketball National Championships as well as the 2016 AAU 6th Grade Girl’s National Championships. In total, over 15,000 visitors will pass through to be a part of, or watch, the games. Registration set to begin for Clarksville Parks and Recreation Youth Recreation Leagues
Clarksville, TN – Registration is set to kick off February 2nd for the Clarksville Parks and Recreation’s Youth Recreation Leagues. Participants can register through March 27th at any of our community centers, the Clarksville Parks and Recreation Main office as well as online at recpro.cityofclarksville.com.
The baseball, softball and t-ball league is open to youth ages 5 to 14. Birth certificates are required at registration to verify the child’s age.
Battle of the Bulge Seminar Series to be held in Clarksville January – April 2015
Clarksville, TN – On December 16th, 1944, the German Army launched a desperate offensive designed to split the Allied armies in two and capture the strategic supply port of Antwerp, Belgium. This offensive has come to be known as the Battle of the Bulge.
We are now in the midst of the 70th Anniversary of that offensive and historians from the Clarksville area including history faculty from Austin Peay State University will take part in presenting a series of programs that will educate, inform and enlighten the public as to the importance of this offensive. A highlight of one seminar will be actual World War 2 veterans that served in the Bulge fighting.

First Advantage Bancorp announces 43 percent increase in Quarterly Cash Dividends
Clarksville, TN – The Board of Directors of First Advantage Bancorp (OTC QB: FABK), the holding company of First Advantage Bank, has declared an increase in quarterly dividends paid to shareholders to $0.10.
The change represents a 43 percent increase from the previous dividend rate of $0.07. The higher dividend represents a 4% annual return on the original $10/share price.
The cash dividend will be paid on or about February 16th, 2015 to shareholders of record on February 5th, 2015. [Read more]

Clarksville’s Indoor Aquatic Center to begin new water fitness program
Clarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department has added another program to the water fitness lineup at the Indoor Aquatic Center, located at 166 Cunningham Lane.
The new, Adult Lap Swim Training Program is now open to those who are looking to take part in lap swimming or add a little challenge to their lap swimming routine.

Clarksville, TN – As expected, the European Central Bank (ECB) signaled that it would begin a quantitative easing program, purchasing €60 billion per month in public and private securities through September 2016.
The amount of monthly purchases was a bit higher than anticipated, but that included the ECB’s already-existing program to purchase asset-backed securities and covered bonds. The ECB’s announcement sent the euro sharply lower.
