Clarksville Downtown Market Ranked In Top 100 Most Celebrated In the Country
American Farmland Trust’s I Love My Farmers Market Celebration
Clarksville, TN — After more than three months, American Farmland Trust’s 2014 I Love My Farmers Market Celebration came to a close and the Clarksville Downtown Market ranked number 19 in the Top 100 Most Celebrated in the Country – with 115 pledges collected.
Each week the I Love My Farmers Market Celebration encouraged shoppers to champion local family farmers by pledging to shop at their farmers markets each week. Nationally, shoppers pledged to spend $443,608.62 at farmers’ markets this season, putting funds directly into the pockets of family farmers.
Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, Daymar Institute to host Domestic Violence Awareness event tomorrow
Montgomery County, TN – Organizers hope an event tomorrow will help raise awareness of domestic violence and local victims.
Deputy Peggy Macias said the “Remember My Name” event was first brought to Montgomery County in October 2013, during Domestic Violence Awareness month, to Kenwood High School in memory of assistant principal Pam Cooper, who was killed by her ex-husband.
American Cancer Society Relay For Life Kickoff Rally on October 21st at Hilldale Baptist Family Life Center
Clarksville, TN – On October 21st, the American Cancer Society Relay For Life® campaign of Montgomery County will officially get underway as event volunteers and participants gather at the Hilldale Baptist Family Life Center for a kickoff rally to launch their fundraising efforts for the year.
In addition to a delicious meal and fellowship with some of Clarksville’s finest volunteers, the rally will feature speakers from the community who have benefitted from funds raised at Relay, will honor cancer survivors, recognize this past year’s participating teams and their contributions toward this effort and during which this year’s campaign theme will be unveiled.

Habitat for Humanity of Montgomery County and Sango United Methodist Church Prepare for 2014 Sango Scamper Road Race
Clarksville, TN – Habitat for Humanity of Montgomery County Tennessee accepted a donation from Pastor Willie Lyle of the Sango United Methodist Church (UMC) this week from the proceeds of the 2013 Sango Scamper Road Race.
Habitat for Humanity has been the beneficiary of this Sango UMC event for over 20 years.

Clarksville Civil War Roundtable’s next meeting is October 15th, 2014
Our 126th meeting.
Clarksville, TN – The next meeting of the Clarksville (TN) Civil War Roundtable will be on Wednesday, October 15th, 2014 at the Bone & Joint Center, 980 Professional Park Drive, right across the street from Gateway Medical Center. This is just off Dunlop Lane and Holiday Drive and only a few minutes east of Governor’s Square mall.
The meeting begins at 7:00pm and is always open to the public. Members please bring a friend or two – new recruits are always welcomed.

Clarksville Parks and Recreation announces “Art on the Park” contest winners
Clarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department is happy to announce the winners of this year’s “Art on the Park” contest.
The five finalists and grand prize winner will receive their framed artwork and the opportunity to paint their design on various walls of the Heritage Park Skatepark.

Hankook Tire broke ground for the new Tennessee Plant as the first U.S.-based production facility, expected to be completed by 2016.
Clarksville, TN – Hankook Tire, the leading and one of the fastest growing tire companies in the world, held a groundbreaking ceremony today for its new United States plant based in Clarksville, Tennessee.
The Tennessee Plant is Hankook Tire’s eighth global production base and the first U.S.-based facility. Tennessee Governor, Bill Haslam and various local and state officials as well as media representatives.

Manna Café Hosts Pirate Fest this Friday
Clarksville, TN – Manna Café Ministries’ third annual Pirate Fest and Chili Cook-Off is taking place this Friday, October 10th.
