Clarksville’s Dunbar Cave State Park Programs for July 13th through July 19th, 2014
Clarksville, TN – Dunbar Cave State Natural Area has been a State Park since 1973. The cave and its surrounding 110 acres have considerable scenic, natural and historical significance. The entrance offered shelter to prehistoric Native Americans as far back as 10,000 years.
Dunbar Cave State Natural Area will present many nature programs this summer. There are programs for children and adults.
Some of the upcoming events include: Fishing Equipment and Techniques, Lake Life, Wildflower Hike, Spiders, Nature Boot Camp, Morning Nature Hike, and Trees Are Terrific.
Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department offers Mother-Son Game Night
Clarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department will be offering a memorable evening for mother and son couples on Thursday, July 24th.
Couples will get to build their own board game, play giant board games and enjoy a pizza and ice cream buffet.
Austin Peay State University adds solar canopy to 9th Street parking lot
Clarksville, TN – On sunny afternoons, the electric meter attached to the Austin Peay State University Hemlock Semiconductor Building won’t be breaking any speed records.
That’s because, in addition to the solar panels on the building’s roof, a new solar parking canopy in the neighboring 9th Street parking lot will feed even more of the sun’s energy into the electrical system, keeping utility costs down.
Clarksville’s Liberty Live Concert Series continues July 19th with performer Tina Brown
Clarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville’s Parks and Recreation Department introduced Liberty Live!, a new, outdoor concert series in June.
The series will continue its season with a performance by Tina Brown on Saturday, July 19th, at the Liberty Park Amphitheater, 1188 Cumberland Drive, Clarksville. Concerts begin at 6:00pm and continue until 9:00pm.

Clarksville, TN – The June Employment Report was stronger than expected. Nonfarm payrolls rose by 288,000 (median forecast: +215,000), with widespread gains across sectors (April and May were revised a net 29,000 higher).
The unemployment fell to 6.1% (from 6.3%), although the employment/population ratio edged up only slightly (to 59.0%, vs. 58.9% in May and 58.7% a year ago – still suggesting plenty of slack in the labor market). Average hourly earnings rose 0.2% in June, up 2.0% y/y (the CPI rose 2.1% over the 12 months ending in May).
Clarksville’s Movies in the Park to feature ‘Monsters University’ this Saturday, July 12th
Clarksville, TN – Movies in the Park, the City’s free, outdoor movie series, continues Saturday, July 12th, 2014 at Heritage Park, 1241 Peachers Mill Road, Clarksville. ‘Monsters University,’ rated G, and brought to you by Altra Federal Credit Union, will be shown at approximately 8:30pm (dependent on sunset).
Monsters University is about Mike, a young monster who dreams of being scary when he grows up. When he grows up, Mike enrolls at Monsters University as a first year scare major. There, he meets Sulley, someone he’s not exactly friends with.

Clarksville Parks and Recreation’s Adaptive Yoga begins this Thursday, July 10th, 2014
Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Parks and Recreation will launch a new program this Thursday July 10th, 2014. The Burt-Cobb Community Center will host Adaptive Yoga every Thursday through August 14th
Adaptive Yoga is a beginner yoga class for those members of the community with cognitive disabilities.
Fort Campbell celebrated the birth of our nation with a bang!
Fort Campbell, KY – Fort Campbell and the surrounding communities came together to celebrate the 4th of July, Independence Day with a bang at Fort Campbell’s USAA and MWR’s (Morale, Welfare and Recreation) Independence Day Carnival and Fireworks display.
“This is what we’re here for we’re here to celebrate the birth of our nation, our soldiers and their families , and our civilians workers. They give so much to us and this is our way of giving back to them especially today on our nation’s birthday,” said Rayna Holly from the Fort Campbell Public Affiars Office.
