Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department will host the Canoe and Kayak Race on July 12th at Liberty Park.
The race will be held in heats beginning at 8:00am at the Montgomery County Conservation Club, located at 1182 Seven Mile Ferry Road, and finishing at Freedom Point in Liberty Park.

Clarksville, TN – The next meeting of the Clarksville (TN) Civil War Roundtable will be on Wednesday, June 18th, 2014 at the Bone & Joint Center, 980 Professional Park Drive, right across the street from Gateway Medical Center. This is just off Dunlop Lane and Holiday Drive and only a few minutes east of Governor’s Square mall.
The meeting begins at 7:00pm and is always open to the public. Members please bring a friend or two – new recruits are always welcomed.

Third Annual 65 Roses Car, Truck, and Bike Show benefiting Cystic Fibrosis to be held at Clarksville Speedway Saturday, June 21st
Clarksville, TN – On Saturday, June 21st, 2014, the third annual 65 Roses Car, Truck, and Bike Show will be held at the Clarksville Speedway.
The event is a 100% charity event to benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and kicks off the final day of the Clarksville Fair.
Clarksville Parks and Recreation reports two pools to temporarily close for maintenance
Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department will have two temporary pool closures this month due to maintenance issues.
Bel-Aire Pool, located at 124 Marie Drive, will be closed on June 16th and New Providence Pool, located at 166 Cunningham Lane will be closed on June 25th.
Humane Society of Clarksville-Montgomery County to hold Mega Yard Sale this Saturday, June 14th
Clarksville, TN – The Humane Society of Clarksville-Montgomery County will host one final Mega Yard Sale fundraiser this coming Saturday, June 14th from 8:00am-2:00pm.
All remaining yard sale items from two weekends ago will be slashed to Half-Price. The Humane Society of Clarksville-Montgomery County office is still filled with fantastic items that will be available this Saturday.
Inner Voices at Clarksville’s Customs House Museum beginning July 3rd
Clarksville, TN – International artist Paul Harmon exhibits his lyrical paintings in the Customs House Museum’s Crouch Gallery beginning July 3rd.
The themes of Harmon’s paintings always incorporate poetry, prose and ideas from the artist’s interests and experiences.
Austin Peay State University Botanical Garden showcases area’s rare and endangered plants
Clarksville, TN – A few years ago, three tall, flowering cherry trees grew on the western side of Austin Peay State University’s Sundquist Science Complex. They provided a nice, welcoming entry into the building, but in 2007, Tennessee suffered from a record-setting drought.
Temperatures reached 113 degrees Fahrenheit that summer, and by the fall, the 20-foot tall trees were dead.
Friends of Fort Defiance to hold March to the Past event this Saturday, June 14th
Clarksville, TN – The Friends of Fort Defiance will be holding their annual March to the Past fundraising event this Saturday, June 14th from 10:00am to 5:00pm at the Fort Defiance Civil War Park and Interpretive Center.
Live demonstrations of quilting, firing, clothing, and medicine will be sure to give the community a clear depiction of the Civil War era.
