26 APSU students selected for Who’s Who

Clarksville Street Department offers Storm Debris Pick-Up Service
Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville Street Department is offering to pick up storm debris for Clarksville residents through the end of the year.
“The recent storms and winter weather have left some residents with limbs that need to be removed. I appreciate the Street Department’s hard work in keeping our roads safe and our yards clear of debris,” said Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan. [Read more]
Austin Peay State University Physics Club named outstanding chapter
Clarksville, TN – Last year, members of Austin Peay State University’s Society of Physics Students (SPS) chapter sent an email to the national organization, loaded with 45 megabytes of attachments.
Somehow, the email made it to College Park, MD, where officials probably spent weeks wading through hundreds of images and documents detailing all the activities the APSU club, known Del Square Psi, had participated in throughout the year.
Clarksville Police Department brings Christmas Cheer to 120 local kids
Clarksville, TN – On Saturday, December 14th, 2013, at 8:00am, the Clarksville Police Union and FOP’s, “Shop with a Cop” was a great success. Officers took over 120 local children, from all over Montgomery County, shopping. Each child spent $100 on clothes and toys.
The children were nominated by 18 Montgomery County Elementary school guidance counselors, Clarksville Police Department employees, and Montgomery County citizens. Every effort was made to find children in need, and make sure they received gifts for Christmas.
1st Annual Stuff the Reda Bus at Movement Mortgage continues tomorrow
Clarksville TN – Local home builder Rick Reda, along with local mortgage lenders Lori Mahaffey and Rachael Rainey and local Realtors Diane Martin, and Joy Evers have come together to organize the 1st Annual Stuff The Bus Campaign to help those in need for Christmas.
The event continues tomorrow, December 17th, 2013 until 6:00pm.
Clarksville Police Department Swears In Four New Officers
Clarksville, TN – Today, December 16th, 2013, the Clarksville Police Department welcomes Daniel Binkley, James Baker, Holden Hudgin, and George Goodman III.
The New Officers’ friends and families, along with Deputy Chief Frankie Gray and other City Officials, gathered at the City Hall, while all four Officers were sworn in by Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan.

APSU’s Barry Kitterman awarded prestigious National Endowment of the Arts Fellowship
Clarksville, TN – Barry Kitterman, Austin Peay State University professor of creative writing, has been awarded a prestigious Creative Writing Fellowship in fiction from the National Endowment of the Arts.
Only 38 writers received the award, with Kitterman being Tennessee’s sole NEA fellow for 2014. His work was selected from among more than a thousand writers as deserving of the honor, which brings with it an award of $25,000.
“A Year With Frog and Toad” now playing at Clarksville’s Roxy Regional Theatre
Clarksville, TN – Spend four fun-filled seasons with Arnold Lobel’s beloved storybook characters in the Tony-nominated musical “A Year With Frog and Toad”, playing December 18th – 21st at the Roxy Regional Theatre.
In Robert and Willie Reale’s whimsical show, Frog and Toad wake from hibernation in the Spring, plant gardens, swim, rake leaves, go sledding, and learn life lessons along the way. Part vaudeville, part make-believe and all charm, “A Year With Frog and Toad” incorporates stories from Lobel’s four books, including the Caldecott Honor-winning Frog and Toad are Friends and the Newbery Honor-winning Frog and Toad Together.

Clarksville’s Chocolate Affair set for February 8th, 2014
Clarksville, TN – City of Clarksville and Planters Bank are planning another Chocolate Affair at the Wilma Rudolph Event Center for February 8th, 2014.
The event will feature sweet and savory treats from both local businesses as well as some National brands like Dove, Lindt Truffles, and Velata. Entertainment will be provided.
