Southern Divisional Bass Tournament Finals To Be Held Tomorrow
Clarksville, TN – The Bass Federation Inc.’s 2013 Southern Divisional Tournament, hosted by The Tennessee Bass Federation, Inc., will be holding their final weigh-ins on Friday, June 7th at the Clarksville Marina to determine the winner of this year’s competition.
This year’s tournament has seen nearly 84 boaters from all over the South, including Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Tennessee and North and South Carolina.
Montgomery County Flag Day Retirement Ceremony Friday, June 14th
Montgomery County, TN – The Montgomery County Veterans Service Organization, in conjunction with Disabled American Veterans Chapter 101 and VFW Post 4895, will be conducting the annual Flag Day ceremony beginning at 10:00am, June 14th, at VFW Post 4895, 1701 Haynes Street, Clarksville.

Clarksville Parks and Recreations Movies in the Park continues with classic sports film on June 15th
Clarksville, TN – Join Clarksville Parks and Recreation this Saturday, June 15th, at Heritage Park soccer fields for this month’s Movies in the Park event, featuring the sports classic, “Rudy,” which is rated PG.
Rudy was always told he was too small to play college football. However, he is determined to beat the odds and fulfill his dream of playing for Notre Dame.
Woodlawn Volunteer Fire Department 25th Anniversary Party to be held Saturday, June 8th
Woodlawn, TN – The Woodlawn Volunteer Fire Department will hold their 25th Anniversary Party Saturday, June 8th. The party is from 10:00am until 2:00pm at the station house. There will be equipment displays, fire trucks, inflatables and refreshments. Everyone is invited.
The Woodlawn Volunteer Fire Department station house is located at 2274 Woodlawn Road right next to Woodlawn Elementary School.
Montgomery County Health Department receives Green Certification
Montgomery County, TN – The Montgomery County Health Department became a Clarksville-Montgomery County Green Certified organization last week.
The Health Department is looking out for the health of our community as well as the health of our community’s environment. On Tuesday, May 28th the Health Department celebrated their CMC Green Certification with a green ribbon cutting ceremony.
Planters Bank First Thursday Art Exhibit to feature pairing of Bird Photography and Mixed Media Art
Clarksville, TN – The Planters Bank-Hilldale Gallery will feature bird photography by David Magers and a mixed media exhibit titled, “Four Seasons” by Gabriele Wardeiner from Thursday, June 6th – Wednesday, July 3rd.
David Magers is a local photographic artist, specializing in bird images. After retiring from Caterpillar, Inc., David relocated to Clarksville from Peoria, IL, where he has more fully developed a life-long passion for photography.
Austin Peay State University School of Nursing receives $60,000 grant with Montgomery County Health Department for Breast Health
Clarksville, TN – Thanks to a $60,000 grant from the Susan G. Komen for the Cure-Greater Nashville Affiliate, the Austin Peay State University School of Nursing will partner with the Montgomery County Health Department to begin a breast health program.
The effort will launch June 12th with a forum that will serve as a call to action for men and women to know the latest about breast cancer, specifically how to minimize their chances of developing the cancer and how to detect signs early.

Clarksville Police Department Teen Citizen Police Academy slots still available
Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville Police Department is still taking application for the Teen Citizen Police Academy. There are still some slots available but they are going fast.
It will be held July 22nd thru July 26th from 9:00am thru 3:00pm each day. Candidates must be in the 7th grade thru Senior in High School.
Dunbar Cave State Park Programs for June 6th through June 8th, 2013
Clarksville, TN – Dunbar Cave State Natural Area has been a State Park since 1973. The cave and its surrounding 110 acres have considerable scenic, natural and historical significance. The entrance offered shelter to prehistoric Native Americans as far back as 10,000 years.
Dunbar Cave State Natural Area will present many nature programs this summer.
