Lydia Walker draws large crowd at this years Rivers and Spires Festival
Clarksville, TN – Local singer/songwriter Lydia Walker performed Saturday, April 20th on the Family Fun stage at the Rivers and Spires Festival. Her show started at 3:30pm. She was the opening act for Building 429.
“I had a great time. It was an awesome crowd. We ended up have amazing weather. Not to hot, not to cold, it was perfect,” said Lydia Walker. “I am so excited to be apart of something so special to Clarksville, my hometown.”
Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan joins local club for Wildflower Sign Installation
Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan joined members of the Beachaven Garden Club who installed wildflower markers along the Pollard Road Walking Trail in Clarksville.
“These ladies have done a remarkable job of identifying these beautiful wildflowers and marking them along the trail,” said Mayor McMillan. “Most of them will be in full bloom soon and it’s just gorgeous along the trail.”

Reagan Giving Circle at APSU to have award luncheon
Clarksville, TN – The Reagan Giving Circle at Austin Peay State University will award more than $8,500 in scholarships to 10 APSU female students during its award ceremony next month.
The ceremony will be held at 11:30am, Monday, April 29th in the Clarksville Country Club, located at 334 Fairway Drive, Clarksville. Tickets are $25.00 per person.

Wounded Warriors rehabilitate with SCUBA at the Indoor Aquatic Center
Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department hosted the Warrior Transition Unit’s Wounded Warriors on Wednesday, April 17th at the Indoor Aquatic Center located at 166 Cunningham Lane.
Wounded Warriors participated in a private SCUBA class instructed by Rich Holladay of Waterdogs SCUBA & Safety, LLC.
Akebono Celebrates Green Ribbon Cutting

The ceremony will be held on Tuesday, April 23rd at 2:00pm at their 780 International Boulevard location. Rivers and Spires Festival reaches Crescendo with Jo Dee Messina Concert
Clarksville, TN -The final day of the 2013 Rivers and Spires Festival began with absolutely glorious weather. The sun was shining and the sky was that special shade of blue you get after a spring storm. The crowds started showing up even before the 10:00am official opening time.
Dave Loos, Jr. from WJZM 1400 AM was on hand broadcasting Live from the Bill Roberts Thunder Road Automotive and Marine booth just down from the Roxy Regional Theatre. He spent the morning interviewing festival organizers and some of the sponsors.

Reconciliation Evangelistic Outreach Center to hold Community Yard Sale

APSU honors student leaders, organizations, faculty, staff at annual awards program
Clarksville, TN – The Office of Student Affairs at Austin Peay State University honored leadership and service by individual students, student organizations, faculty and staff at its annual Student Organization and Leader Awards Program on April 11th.

Friends of Dunbar Cave seeks Additional Land for Dunbar Cave State Natural Area

Clarksville, TN – The Friends of Dunbar Cave are pursuing a purchase of 30 acres adjacent to Clarksville’s only state park, Dunbar Cave State Natural Area (DCSNA). The 30 acres, known as the Ritter-Caroland property, is the only remaining property contiguous to the park that is undeveloped.
The current park consists of 110 acres. This additional 30 acres would greatly expand the size of the park, as well as protect the environment of the area which includes the Red River Watershed (the drainage system for the park.)
