Cunningham, TN – The Cunningham Volunteer Fire Department will be having their Annual Chili Supper at the Montgomery Central Middle School on February 23rd, from 5:00pm until 7:00pm.

Noted activist and social critic Dr. Marc Lamont Hill to speak at Austin Peay State University February 26th
Clarksville, TN – Dr. Marc Lamont Hill is a hard person to classify. He is an academic, serving as an associate professor at Columbia University. He also appears regularly on CNN, MSNBC and the Fox News Channel as a respected commentator and journalist.
Some know him simply as a writer, penning articles for the New York Times and authoring books such as “Beats, Rhymes and Classroom Life: Hip-Hop Pedagogy and the Politics of Identity.”

“Always… Patsy Cline” shines at the Roxy Regional Theatre
Clarksville, TN – The Roxy Regional Theatre is currently staging their production of Always… Patsy Cline, a musical revue featuring the lovely Jacque Clydesdale as Patsy Cline and the talented Leslie Green as Louise Seger.
The show tells the the true story of Patsy Cline’s friendship with Houston housewife Louise Seger. Seger first heard Cline on the “Arthur Godfrey Show” in 1957, and became an immediate and avid fan of Cline’s and she constantly hounded the local disc jockey Hal Harris at KIKK Houston to play Cline’s records on the radio.
Youth Art Month Events and Exhibits at Clarksville Montgomery County Library March 3rd

Montgomery County, TN – Spring is in the air and that means that Youth Art Month is on the way. The annual event will kick off Sunday, March 3rd with a public reception at the Clarksville Montgomery County Library from 2:00pm-4:00pm.
The exhibit will be open the entire month of March and will feature art from some of Clarksville’s best young artists– the students of the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System. [Read more]
Austin Peay State University Annual Dance Concert February 27th through March 3rd
Clarksville, TN – The Austin Peay State University dance minor is only seven years old, but from February 27th through March 3rd, the program’s faculty and students plan to unveil just how far they’ve come in the last few years.
At 7:30pm throughout that week, and at 2:00pm on that Sunday, the APSU Area of Theatre and Dance will present its annual dance concert, “Out on a Limb,” in the Trahern Theater. [Read more]

In his State of the Union Address, President Obama proposed various efforts to boost manufacturing jobs, universal pre-K education and an increase in the minimum wage. However, there’s little chance that any of these proposals will make it to the floor of the House.
The economic data were mixed. Retail sales rose a modest 0.1% in January. Industrial production slipped 0.1%, but figures for November and December were revised higher. The New York Fed’s Empire State Manufacturing Index and the mid-February reading on consumer sentiment surprised to the upside. [Read more]
Kleeman Community Center to start New session of Olympic Style Archery
Clarksville, TN – A new session of Olympic Style Archery will begin March 19 at the Kleeman Community Center. Pre-registration is underway online at recpro.cityofclarksville.com.

APSU Football Stadium funding approved by Tennessee Building Commission
New Architect Images Released
Clarksville, TN – The State Building Commission approved Thursday, February 14th an increase in funding of $900,000 for renovations to Austin Peay State University’s Governors Stadium.
The additional funds were required to cover higher than expected construction costs and were provided by private gifts and a one-time plant fund investment, Mitch Robinson, vice president of finance and administration, said. The total expected cost of the project is revised to $16.9 million, he said.
APSU Visiting Writers Series presents Blas Falconer Poetry Reading March 1st
Clarksville, TN – On Friday, March 1st, 2013 there will be a Poetry Reading by Blas Falconer at Austin Peay State University, The reading will start at 8:00pm at the Morgan University Center.
Poet and editor Blas Falconer will read from his new collection of poems, The Foundling Wheel (Four Way Books, 2012).
