Wyatt-Johnson “Shares the Love” and Christmas dinner with Fort Campbell soldiers
Clarksville, TN – A group of very special USO soldiers and their families from Fort Campbell recently enjoyed a delicious holiday meal and a visit from a jolly old elf while celebrating a wonderful cause.
As the soldiers, families and children (approximately 130 people total) arrived at the Wyatt-Johnson Subaru-Hyundai-Mazda dealership, they were greeted by Santa’s helpers (aka Wyatt Johnson employees) and were served a traditional Christmas meal catered by Margie Johnson. The group feasted on ham, turkey with all of the fixings, and a variety of delicious desserts.
Dunbar Cave State Park Recycling Your Christmas Trees
Clarksville, TN – The staff and Friends of Dunbar Cave State Park are asking for your family to drop off your Christmas tree so it can be recycled into mulch for the parks trails.
Please drop off your tree, free of all decorations and tinsel, at the park’s parking lot anytime between now and 11:00am, January 5th. [Read more]
B. R. Miller and Co., Inc. General Contractors Receives Their Green Certification
Clarksville, TN – The B. R. Miller and Co., Inc. General Contractors received their Green Certification during a Green Ribbon Cutting Ceremony attended by the Montgomery County Mayor Carolyn Bowers at their offices on December 18th just a week before Christmas.
The ceremony celebrated their successful implementation of green initiatives and completion of the Clarksville-Montgomery County Green Certification Program.

Market Commentary by Scott J. Brown, Ph.D., Chief Economist
Stock market participants were encouraged by progress (over the weekend) in fiscal cliff negotiations. However, the two sides remained far apart and discussions stalled on Tuesday. House Speaker Boehner proposed a plan B, which would raise taxes on those making more than $1 million per year. However, the plan faced opposition from Senate Democrats, a threat of a presidential veto, and rejection from some of the more conservative members of the House.
Lacking enough votes within his own party, Boehner pulled the plan on Thursday evening. The result was an even greater bargaining advantage for the Democrats and a near certainty of going over the cliff. There’s still a strong belief that a deal will be reached in January or early February, but negotiations may have to start over with the new Congress. Post-cliff, however, Republicans would be able to vote for tax cuts rather than tax increases. [Read more]

Sunrise Rotary Club gives $1,000 donation to Montgomery County Imagination Library
Clarksville, TN – The Sunrise Rotary Club has given a $1,000 donation to the Imagination Library of Montgomery County in support of this important early literacy program.
Sunrise Rotary has been a staunch supporter of Imagination Library since its inception in Montgomery County in 2006 and has given well over $30,000 to IL through the years.

Volunteers needed for Clarksville Parks and Recreation’s Dream Chasers Group Mentoring Program
Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Parks and Recreation is seeking mentors. Volunteer mentors are needed for the upcoming Dream Chasers Group Mentoring Program.
Mentors will be working with at-risk youth, ages 13-17 in a small group atmosphere. Small group leaders, guided by professionals, will mentor youth as they discuss dealing with negative influences that affect teens and will promote making healthy and informed decisions. [Read more]
